If you found Still Alice interesting, you might be intrigued by The Bird House (Simon & Schuster) which the Library Journal called “a great title for book clubs, and especially fans of Lisa Genova’s Still Alice.”

Thanks so much – happy to connect on Shelfari if you’re up for it.

The book was amazing, and there are many images that will stick with me forever. I just don't know what to read now after something that good. I thought about getting one of his other novels, but I hear they are different in style from this one.

The last paragraph of this novel is perplexing to me. I am not sure what to make of it.

I really think reading it now since I have Leo caused me to connect deeper with the characters, and thus making it more difficult to focus on the analysis. I became too caught up in the story. The scene with the pregnant lady truly horrified me. Oh well, I still have a month to think about the analysis part.

Here is a good recipe from Sandra Lee's crock pot book for meatballs.
2 pounds fully cooked frozen meatballs (recommended: Armanino)
1 bottle (16-ounce) catalina salad dressing
    1 cup orange marmalade
    3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Place frozen meatballs in the insert of a slow cooker. In a bowl, stir to combine the remaining ingredients. Pour over meatballs and stir to coat. Cook on high setting for 2 to 3 hours.

I read your review of Five Skies. You wished others would read it. I'm here to say I did. A remarkable work. I posted my thoughts on it.
