I love reading out loud to others.

My family made weekly trips to the library when I was growing up in Phila.

Recently, I've been listening to audio books in the car ...

I've been a member of a book group for... more »

I thought this was a nicely written book ... especially enjoyed the literary references. I also liked that it was in Phila. (my birthplace).

It seemed a bit pat in places but I liked the way the relationships were described

I liked some of the ideas in this book - finding oneself and how it can hurt others - but found the way a bit preposterous. Kind of like it had to be extreme to blast the main character out of her slump ...

Not all that long ago, women had few options. The main character in this book experienced two events, each time falling further.

    Suspenseful.

I loved this book initially. Such sensual descriptions of Italy .. the landscape, the food, the people. Then, after a while, I got really tired of the food descriptions and the recipes.

I listened to this book for about 20 hours. Only once or twice was I unable to listen ... This is an amazing and somewhat fictional account of one of the Lost Boys of Sudan. He went through an astounding amount of hardship as a young boy. I highly recommend this book.
