The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao ... it is written in a voice that sounds just like Junot Diaz's real one. He uses footnotes to give the backstory on Dominican Republic history so I'm learning something along the way. Fierce characters!

I just read an amazing book called Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum. I don't know if it is your type of book but the members in my book group loved it. BTW, if you ever want to join a yahoo book club let me know. Its fun, we each read what we want, and swap ideas. Jody
