Have you tried Song of Solomon or Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison. Those might be a little better than Love. I mean, I liked it, but it just isn't her best.

Very sorry that I couldn't reply sooner.I've been busy with my semester exams.
Any ways It was a good read, though initially I was a bit taken aback by the explicitness, but as it turned out that the inventive crude language was perhaps the best way to voice the most delicate emotions of Celie.I guess the bottom-line is that Inner Beauty, though delicate, is unfading. What do you think?
And how is your "As I lay Dying" coming along?

Hey, I'm glad books have turn on your spiritual awareness, but I hope you don't get too much truth from Dan Brown. His stuff is poor scholarship and bad historical research.

if you like metaphysical stuff and haven't read Richard Bach's "Jonathan Levingstone Seagull", then I would suggest you to read it. It is a light-read.You can consider it is a primer on such stuff.Other books by Bach also have this subject like "The Bridge across forever".
