I'm a college student and I love to read poems and prose outside of the world of textbooks.
I tend to read more than one book at a time. If I am focused on reading just one book, that's a good sign.

    The Ancient One says

In my heart there are visions of hope and beauty that celebrate the human imagination. Imagine Peace and you inspire the purpose within, Imagine Love and the seeds of possibilities will enable you to live your true nature and evoke your own greatness. Let us all be inspired to Imagine a world of unbridled joy and shared humanity for doing so will lead us to a rose garden of spirituality where happiness is a way of life.

Oh, fun--I LOVED it. So well-written, but hard to read it slowly enough to appreciate the beautiful language.

I would spend your time on other books (besides Twilight), but if you do read it, turn off your "evaluation" button and just read for plot :-).

It's a horrible tragedy, so horrible that it's hard to even read, and a tragedy filled with guilt. The writing is really good afterwards, but it's hard to pull yourself through.

No, I have not read David Sedaris yet. I better not borrow it just yet as my stack of "books to read" is toppling over. ha! Enjoy it though. I will watch for your final review.

Let me know what you think of Me Talk Pretty as I have that on my list of books to read and want to know if I should move it up in the pile.

I'd like to read that if you don't mind loaning it. I like Joyce Carol Oates in small doses. I'd be curious to see if her adolescent title is as dark as her adult fiction. What are you reading now?

Hey, Laura, how was Big Mouth? I love Joyce Carol Oates' fiction, but usually only read one per year, as it's so, so dark. Is this one adolescent fiction?

I see you are new around here, you might enjoy Better than Starbucks
    http://www.shelfari.com/groups/23648/about

Better than Starbucks is one of the fastest growing literary/social groups on Shelfari, with good reason. the membership (not so much me, the founder) is literate and diverse, and by and large very intelligent. The name of the group comes from an argument that led to the founding.

You can check out the following thread to understand a bit the naming:
