not much with two kids but here's some books mostly recent.
thanks for the interview link! have you listened to the audio or "talking" book of True Hallucinations?
have you finished "extremely loud..." yet? did it leave you with heavy boots or light? i read it again thursday. it left me with medium boots.
I've made one of my own :-D After finals I will read those books you suggested.
i've read all three books in which altered carbon was the first. my old supervisor back in san diego used to hand me books to read and 'altered carbon' and the next one were passed on to me. i see from your shelf that you've read stephenson. i love his books, all except for the trilogy, the baroque cycle. all three were a real waste.i hate it that you're insan diego!! i'm a california girl living in the midwest now, and i'm moving to texas soon. my daughter and i lived in kensington before we moved out here. i miss it so much i could spit!i haven't heard of 'the raw shark texts'. i'll look that up at the bookstore tomorrow. thanks!teresa
i hope you're enjoying 'extremely loud and incredibly close' by safran foer. have you read 'everything is illuminated' yet? i liked that one, as well. i see you have 'oryx and crake' on your waiting to read list. i read that a number of years ago and never forgot it. enjoy.
the wind-up bird chronicle is awesome. have fun with it. if you haven't read other murakami, you may also want to read the wild sheep chase. it is like the sticky fingers to murakami's exile on main street (wind-up bird). shorter, rockinger and a taste of what's to come.
i assume you are a baseball fan if you are planning to or currently reading "but didn't we have fun." if so, allow me to recommend "crazy '08" and "the numbers game." both awesome books that were written in the last couple of years. there are others too... but those the most memorable in my mind. hope all is well.
i noticed that you liked "no man knows my history." i definitely recommend "mormonism unveiled" as well. it is touched upon in "no man" and "under the banner of heaven." very interesting read.
