    Morpeth is lovely.
Have you ever been to the Beamish museum? Or visited it online? It is the North east of England's living history musuem and there is a section about coal miners set in 1913 or thereabouts.

I'm delighted that you've read (and liked!) several of my books. Thanks for letting me know!
BTW, I love your dog pic. We have a black stray; same big dark eyes. He's part pomeranian too, with a curly tail and purple tongue!

Actually I think that title was Come love a Stranger. I got it mixed up with A Rose in Winter which I loved. I always thought it would make a wonderful film with Hugh Jackman or Russell Crowe as the lead.

The last Woodiwiss novel I read was Come Before Winter and it was a major disappointment. I have read more than my share of romance novels in the 80's as well. My favorite authors were Shirlee Busbee, Amanda Quick and Sandra Brown. I haven't read a romance novel since the early 90's but did enjoy them at the time. I also loved Flame and the Flower.

Yeah, another Regency fan! I note that you love Laurens and Quick but don't have any Georgette Heyer on your shelf. Do you not like her?

I read your opinion on Ashes in the Wind and it is that kind of a book. While I don't read romances anymore I do think this is one of the best Civil War romances ever penned. It is to me Woodiwiss' best work with maybe one exception, A Rose in Winter is also a wonderful romantic jaunt.

    Lady,

I see you love some of my favorites too. My suggestion is "The Wolf & the Dove". I loved it , loved it, loved it. I have to re-read it soon. Try it and let me know if you feel the same as I do!
