Thanks, I am so glad you asked. I can't wait to check out your shelf, too.
Hi Jackie, any new developmments? It has been raining again here, in the night I think becasuse yesterday was sunny, somewhat, but it rained all day and all night the day before. Doesn't look good today either. So no gardening for me. Still card making and maybe some reading. How about you?Evelyn S
Jackie, that sounds like a friend of mine in Australia whose renst but has to have the Unit spotless and perfect before she moves out and it is in spected also. Thank you for your interest. Very kind of you.Suddenly remembered I had not send a birthday card to the daughter of my very good friend in Canada. She is English and we used to work at the same Firm, way back when. She is now on, can you believe it?, a world cruise. Sigh! It is because she is away that my time clock is off. I would have rung her and we would have discussed this. I saw her new husband's note for his birthday date and remembered then. The two will go together. Luckily, I had a few male orientated, well wild animal; cards, I could choose and send. I did have loads of others to choose the daughter's card from. Largely due to my diligence since Christmas, I have to say. The friewnd you have in Scotland, you men tioned she made cards? What are her cards like?Get back to me when you can, we are all busy people, I know.Evelyn
Good Evening Jackie, not sure about Arizona time and English time. California is 8 hrs behind, Chicago is 6 hrs behind so you could be 7 hrs or just into the 8 hr time zone, so I hope you had a good day. I read and re- read and re-read all the Dragon books. I am re-reading The Skies of Pern right now, now that it is almost warm enough to read in bed at night. Was too cold to have my arm outside the bed covers all through the last three months. I did go and do a bit more cutting, not a great deal but every little counts, doesn't it? There was even a little sunshine then but it got cloudy again and my spine had had enough, so I came inside.Made another card, watched @The Taken' yesterday and then 'Sex and the City ' film on DVD.I cooked a roast chicken dinner this evening and we had a cooked breakfast this morning which I also cooked so my back feels bad again. (A cooked breakfast here usually means sausages, eggs, bacon and I added a fried tomato as well).Be good or careful, or bothEvelyn
Thanks for writing Jackie. Well, fancy that! DragonRider. Bet she loves Anne McCaffrey, as do I. Sorry you are in a pickle but I expect it will all be sorted soon or in the not too distant future. I am still making birthday cards at the moment though I ought to get ahead on Christmas cards too. Was a bit late with them last year, had a mad scramble at the end.Soon it will be all out gardening. So I will not really have time to do many cards, at least this way, all I have to do is get the bag and pick one when a birthday comes up, especially those last minutes you forget, or new people whose b'day comes up and I need a quick card. Recently I had to make a quick condolences card for a friend whose brother just passed, so at least I was still in the card mode, you never know. When the better weather really comes, even thouhg the temps. have been somewhat milder of late (hence the show of crocuses and now colour on the hyacinth flower buds too. Only have 2 of those. the rest died out but that is because the soil in a large tub (old wheel actualaly) has been there for yonks and never loosened or turned). But when it does get nice, if it will do that this year (last couple have been rather grim until April/May - late for our springtime), I shall be out full steam ahead, well very slowly. I have been quite ill over the past three years, last year being the worst with 6 heart attacks of varying degrees and of that, 4 hospitalisations. Takes times to reco0ver. Having said that, I still managed a great deal of cutting down/cutting back last year until the weather turned in October. Still have more to do on the front/side gardens and along the length of the back garden but outside the perimeter as it were. This year though I am turning more of the back garden into growing areas for food production, well, that is the theory at least. So, I have blackberry canes to clear and they take some doing, very slowlt and carefully.I have wittered on a bit! Sorry!Have a good day. At some future point I will try the book. I have four Library books out at the moment (I only buy books I know I will like and will read again like the new No. 1 Ladies Detectice Agebcy book, comes out in a few days time. That I will read inbetween Library books and will also buy).Oh, went off again.Take care,Evelyn S
