i love to read and to write. i go to the book store every week and buy at least one if not more books. Depending on the length of the books and how much sleep i want to get i can go through about 4 books a month. i guess many would say that i am addictided to books. Of all the things that one could be addictided to i guess books are the best thing to pick.
i am not a "fast" reader, i read at the pace that i talk. That also means that i remember a lot more details then some might when they read quickly through a book.
i take at least one book with me everywhere that i go. i never know when i am going to find a moment to read and i try make the best of those moments.
i love to sit/lay down with a good cup of tea and a great book and read for hours while my candles or incense burn in the background. A bunch of soft fluffy pillows and light blanket and i will never want to move from my spot. Music or no music, noise or no noise that matters not to me. i can get lost in my book and tune out everything around me.
i love to sit down with my son and read to him as well. Though he is often up and running before the book is done or the chapter depending on what we are reading. Ohh the joys of ADHD. i let him pick what we read but he can only stay still for so long. i am trying to instill a love of reading in him but right now he just has TOO much energy to stay still for long.
When asked what i want for Christmas or my birthday or anything like that i always say a gift card to a bookstore near me so that i can pick up some of the books that i have on order there already at that time. Plus this way i do not have to wait to get a book that i want because someone else is gifting me with it. Nor do i accidently buy a book that someone else has already bought for me.
