I'm just finishing One Is The Sun by Patricia Nell Warren, who came from the Deer Lodge Valley where I live. What, may I ask, inspired you to read the book, and your impression of it?
I lived in the Twin Cities for 8 years and got my degrees from U of Minn.

    Dear Jessica,
So glad to hear you're writing a book. Takes yer life over for a while, doesn't it? But it's in a good way.
I gave birth to a 274 page baby this morning. It was delivered at Amazon.com,,,and we named her, 'Returning to Rockwell'.
I'm the proud mother of a fun story. Hope you and Robin will take a gander. The main character's name is Dana Lynne O'Malley. I think you'd enjoy her as a neighbor and a friend. I know I did as the words flowed from me.
I couldn't wait to share my news with you.
    God Bless...
    Peace and Light,
    Taylor

    Hi Jessica,
I just finished reading your short story. So tragic, yet so true. It could be turned into a novel, if you ever chose to. You have the gift and I hope you'll continue.
I must ask...did your words at any time make you cry? I've found that in the process of writing a novel, I become attached to my characters and feel their happiness and/or their sorrow.
Sounds strange, but my emotions travel along with my stories.
Are you working on another story at this time?
I'll begin my next story in a few more weeks. I like to take about three months off after I complete a book. Spend them reading and learning and exploring my imagination for my next storyline. My other half wants me to write a thriller, but we shall see what the old noodle brings about.
I hate to say I enjoyed your story, but I will say that it touched me and you handled the tragedy well. Bitterness isn't to be enjoyed but to teach, to reach the fibers of one's heart. You did such, Jessica.
    Job well done...
    God Bless.
    Peace and Light,
    Taylor

    Hi Jessica,
Forgive me for my delay getting back to you. I wanted to read your story first and tell you marvelous things. I did go to Blithe and tried to print it out to read that night, but it wouldn't allow me. So I've yet to sit still long enough to read it over my computer screen, but I will definitely make time this weekend to read "Fear Won Out."
I like the line you added about friends: You plan to die rich.
It's dinner time around here and I'm the cook, so I'd best get at it.
You and Robin have a satisfying weekend.
    God Bless.
    Peace and Light,
    Taylor

    Hi labrys,
Brrrrr!. Cold part of the country, but a great state,
I'm in sunny Florida with 88* today.
Thanks for joining my friendship list.
We share many interests. Should be the ingredients of a good cookie recipe for Friendship.
You must point me in your writing's direction.
If you've had a chance to glance at my brief profile, you've noticed the fictional genre of my current writings.
I'm wetting my pants with child-like excitement of my new release. Due out anyday. My huggies are keeping me dry until then.
My upcoming release's main character just so happens to be a photographer, more so as the story moves along.
It isn't a Christmas story...but pretty darn near.
'May I let you know when it's available? I'd be delighted if you'd give it a go.
My best to you and Robin. Congratulations on eight years!
    God Bless.
    Your new southern friend.
    Please call me 'Taylor'

PS. My blog will give you a better understanding of my personal character. It's listed on my profile page , should you have a moment to take a gander. If you do, please leave me a few words. Thanks...

Gee, thanks for the compliments. You know, for me it is truly a labor of love - I just stay drunk on the magic. I think I'd have had a "bigger' career if I had been willing to limit myself to one genre, but I've never liked being boxed in, with friends, food tastes, writing, anything. I'm a big believer in Auntie Mame's "Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death! But, of course it's always a delight to know someone enjoys my little stories...At the risk of sounding fatuous, I do.

interesting book shelf - we share some tastes, especiallly for Lori Lake. Have you read her Snow Moon Rising? It's her best (although I confess, I haven't read everything of hers). And in her latest short story collection, Shimmer, she dedicates the title story to me, I'm flattered to say.

Since I also spotted lots of Marion Zimmer Bradley, I'll share a little anecdote with you - in the old starving artist days, she tells of collecting the little free packets of ketchup from restaurants and mixing them with hot water to make "soup." Life can be very tough for artists, can't it?
