Just the thought of burning the books in Fahrenheit 451 gives me the willies and nightmares for weeks on end.

Interesting if you like Greek mythology. Not my favorite topic, and I felt sort of obligated to read it as an Art History person, but still mildly enjoyed it.

Well, anything Faust would get my attention, but the tagline "A Struggle for the Soul of Physics"? Who wouldn't want to read that.

It was good. It was funny. Honestly though, knowing Steve Martin's mind and that he truly "gets" modern art... I expected a bit more. Although, I must say, he is definitely a master of surrealism. The other plays in this book are short and just as worth-while reading as the title play.

An amazingly powerful and shocking book. I was skeptical to read this, knowing it was a post-apocalyptic book. I thought "cue Michael Bay for a movie rendition of this one." But it is the furthest from such Hollywood drivel that a book could possibly be.

I know every generation thinks it's the one that will finally wipe out life in general or bring about the en of the world, but I really like Shute's take: it's not life ending, just human life, and people just go on being people until the end. I liked Peter Holmes's quote, "Maybe we've been too silly to deserve a world like this." Overall very thought-provoking. I found myself reacting to this book the same way I did when I first saw "Titanic" as a 10 year old: it wasn't the horror of the boat sinking or the atomic bombs that was terrifying, it was the fate of the people left in water and post-fallout that was.

I love it that this is a true story. And it gets into the nitty gritty that most art people want to ignore: science and crime. This could be a little dry if you are looking for an arty fic, but the whole idea of what Van Meegeren did and the psychology of why he was able to fool so many people is amazing.

Sooo good! Art combined with philosophy combined with drugs combined with time travel combined with crime and adventure. A very well done, thrilling read.

Not my usual pick, but very, very good nonetheless.

I got this book from the Library this afternoon - it's now 5pm and I'm done. I couldn't put it down. This should be required reading in every high school and college.

The Doppleganger series of the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe that is a requirement for any fledgling anarchist. Really, REALLY good!
