Laciesmom

Hello, I am Lacie's Mom. I live in a little out of the way corner of Alabama. I have a small independent bookstore named "K's Cove Books & Treasure". My name is Karen, but friends and family call me just plain "K". I love to read and to talk book. I require my coffee fix all day long........
Warm, sunny days make me extremely happy.

Yay, Karen!! You just made my day. I plan to make some cool (at least I hope they are cool, lol) promo items. If you're intersted, I can send some to you. If you send me an email (or private note) with your store information and what types of things your customers like, (bookmarks, book plates?) I'll send you them when I get them made.

See my new puppy? She actually has a bit of terrier in her, too. She is black and tan with an occasional white hair here and there. She has these cute, wity whiskers that remind us of Falkor (the big white flying dog in Neerending story)! We thought of naming her that, but it seems too masculine. Now I am trying to think of whiskery animal and character names from books...any suggestions?

I love the Three Sisters Island Trilogy! And I want to grow up to be Mia.
I am actually envious that you are able to do something with books that you love. I have nothing against used books...my mother used to work for B. Dalton's and they would allow her to bring home the 'throw-aways' as long as she removed the covers. Quite a few of my books have no covers, but it's what's in between that's important!
    Have a lovely day.

Did you finish 'The Hanged Man"? Did you like it? I see you read 'The Reef' by Nora Roberts. I liked it okay, but I really like her older books and trilogies. Did you know she writes a year 2050 crime series as J.D. Robb? I like those a lot.
    Take care...

Hi, I know you posted the note about "Black Jewels Trilogy" awhile back, but I had to write. I totally agree that these books must be re-read a number of times to "get" them. Her world is so complicated in this trilogy, and you don't really pay attention to her veiled references until later. I wish her current books were as interesting.

It's after midnight here as I read the note you left which puts us at Monday. So hopefully your having a great day there with friends and getting over the slow 4th of July. To be honest, I didn't get to any parties on the forth either. My dogs were scared of the fireworks and I ended up babysitting them. Anyway, just thought I would post back. Take care of yourself over there and stay cool! ~LV~
