The kitten reading the book is so cute!
The Name of the Rose was a favorite book of mind. However, I cannot read the author's other books. I also liked the movie with Sean Connery.
No problem!

Victorian Ghost Stories (An Oxford Anthology)
It's nice to hear about your favorite authors....I'll have to look up Michael Jecks' medieval mysteries. I've never read any of his. (Do you especially like his Knights Templar Mysteries or the Medieval West Country Mysteries?) I'm reading a medieval mystery right now (The Serpent's Tale by Ariana Franklin) and I'm really interested in medieval culture in general. It's been a long time since I've read a Martha Grimes book. I read all of the books I could find of hers in a couple months, so I definintely enjoyed them. Then I had to wait for her to write more books and I didn't notice when her next books came out. Thanks for the reminder to see what she's written since then.Take care and happy reading!Connie
Hi Kristinah - it's been so long since we last chatted. What's new? What are you reading? I see you read The Dirty Duck - I love Martha Grimes' books! Also see you are planning to read Pillars of the Earth. I loved that book. I haven't been reading too much lately - usually that's all I do on weekends but except for my Victorian Ghost stories (which I read before I go to sleep, if you can believe that), I haven't touched a book all weekend. Hope all is well with you!
I haven't decided who my favorite writer is...sometimes it changes based on what I'm reading and on my mood. As you can see, I like a lot of different genres too...I'm not very good at choosing just one, but I'll keep thinking about it...Who's your favorite author?
You have a lot of fun books on your shelf. I'm looking forward to reading your reviews.
You know, I'm so busy writing that I don't read that much any more. I like non-fiction, true crime and Grisham.
Its still historical fiction....with Steve Berry's style. Thanks for the note.
Thank you for your friend request, i'm always happy to add new people on here. how are you?
I just made the mistake of buying the historian because of the good reviews and it was on 50% sale.... I am so NOT into vampires...
Hi Kristinah,I haven't quite finished, but I think I'm probably going to give this 4 stars. It covers the last 4 months of Anne Boleyn's life and so there is necessarily a lot of detail about politics and the motivations of various people. It is well researched and well written - of course, if you have read a lot of biographies about Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII you won't find much that is new; I didn't expect to, so I didn't have a problem with going over familiar ground once again. The book brings into focus Anne's spectacular fall from favour and looks at conclusions other authors have come to over the years. There lies my only problem with this book: Weir snipes quite a bit at her colleagues (some of them anyway), which I find unnecessary. Other than that I really like it!You have a great weekend, too!Sabina
