Since no one responded I just decided to take the month off. I haven't started Sand and Fog. Maybe I'll put it up for October? I'm also a teacher and my classroom moms decided to have a book club that I'm participating in so I have those books to read too. September has been busy! It went by incredibly fast.
Sounds like even without working over the summer you’re keeping very busy!
The great gatsby hey? I saw the movie, I didn’t like it very much…maybe I would like the book better. I just started on The Hobbit yesterday. So far it’s a lot easier to understand then I thought it would be. For some reason I thought I remember being told it was hard read….maybe not? That would be nice! It is thick though!
I want to read Eat Pray Love before it comes out! Have you read it? It looks like a great movie, so I’m sure the book is great! I saw it in the thrift store a while ago and again, “someone told me” that it wasn’t very good so I didn’t pick it up. Shot! Not I need to try and find it (I’m sure the library has it!).
Let me know how Grapes of Wrath is. I’d like to read that one too!
P.s. I head the follow up book to Three Cups of Tea is way better, it's written more by "the guy" that started the whole thing, and apparently he's a pretty good writer!
Wow, I just realized it’s been over a month since I have been on here! I got a new position at work, we moved into our house, we got a dog, we rented out both our suites (it’s a triplex) and of course it’s summer which means weddings and yard work!
How did the last book club meeting go? I’m guessing you likely had another one since you last emailed. My online thing is pretty much non-existent now. It’s fine tho, I really have a lot going on. If I can find a book club to join tho I just might do that! That way I know it’s already with committed people you know? It will likely be with totally random people but that’s fine too! I like meeting new people!
I’ve decided to hold out on buying any books until I make good progress on the over 30 books I have at home I haven’t read! I also have been dipping into the classics online and from the library to catch up on what I’ve missed all these years (dr. jackal and mr. Hyde, Withering Heights, and now I think I’ll read the Hobbit). I am going to look into the help, that book sounds good.
I finally finished three cups of tea! It got better along the end, but ya, sort of a water book. It’s good to be informed, I think it would make a better movie, or somehow a documentary.
That book swap thing sounds great!! I’m totally going to try that, thanks for telling me about it!!
oh wow! that's great! it sounds like it went super good! i've decided that i'm going to try and do mine online and see how that goes. I think it's just that people out here are just too busy. maybe i need to find some friends that are a little...boring and don't do much else them read and think, ha ha, jk!
so how is the new book going? i'm reading 3 cups of tea at the moment. i heard really really good things but i have to be honest i find it a little boring! i think i read too much chic lit and twilight type books that now this is boring for me. i think it just goes to show that i need to switch it up more!
oh, you would have been in heaven if you were at the garage sale i was at the other day. it was at a community center and they were getting ready to pack up and so they said "fill a box for a $1" and they weren't small boxes!! i got 2 boxes full of books! don't ask me who the authors are, and what they are all about but it was only $2 and my shelves are overflowing!! i'll let you know how they are!
