I love reading! I have often considered books to be my best friends. Not anymore but they still are very dear to me. I love owning them because I like to see and touch them. I am a mother and grandmother and of course the people in my life are what count the most. Shelfari is a great place. I love talking to other book lovers and it is so great... more »

    Hello Kristel,

Let me paint a picture with words:

You are in a forest with the sounds of a flowing brook nearby. A light breeze brings in the scent of pine trees and honeysuckles. You look up and hear a woodpecker on a nearby tree echoing through the woods and it brings a smile. Never having been on this forest path you follow a peculiar trail of roses that starts on the trail and leads off into the deeper woods. It’s a strange place for cultivated roses. One rose after another; they beckon you to follow them. The scent is light and wonderful, sparkles of purple float up from the flowers into the wind and drift off.
“What on Earth?” In a hole in an oak tree you find three small bottles of honey. A single drop of honey on your tongue is so sweet and delicious as if you haven’t eaten in a week.

“That is my honey.” The voice is a big one though not threatening.

You come face to face with the big red dragon. “Oh my.”

    You have a nice shelf.

I hope you are reading lots of interesting books.

    Knights of the Dragon:

Leander is under siege. It seems their wizard is dying. A dragon befriends a boy and hires knights to save his kingdom. Alexa is a match for any man, except perhaps for Stone; they’ve had eyes for one another for years, though neither will admit it. A dragon is born that turns out to be a wizard, a rare dragon indeed.
And there are whispers of a boy wizard.

It’s a tale of wizards, dragons, romance and knights.

Unrealistic or not my writing gives me hope. But with something like 50 000 books published every month it is a little discouraging. I didn’t think there were that many writers.

Hi Kristel, in the 1001 Books group are there discussion threads for books that were not previously BOTMs or do we just write a review for those?

    Hi Krystel,
Looking forward to exploring your shelf. I was an avid reader in my younger days, then read less as a single parent working hard to survive. Now I'm retired, I'm reading more. I am also in a book club and reading books I would never have found on my own. Not only that--I'm writing books too.Now that was a surprise.

Hello Kristel! I am new to this Website and i am trying to get acquainted with other fellow book lovers and enthusiasts and i also Love sharing my thoughts on different topics with people and even having a good old debate once in a while especially on History. My Favorite Genres are Non Fiction,History,Technology,Computers,Politics, and recently i have gotten pretty interested in Business and Science as well. I am a Noob when it comes to Fiction books so i am also trying to meet new people who could help suggest some Good Books and a few exemplary Fiction series and lead me down the rite path so to speak. So just thought i would say Hello! =] (Since the beginning of this year Books have also become my Best friend) They have Helped keep me occupied during some dark times in my life and some Painful Moments so to just say i love Books and reading is an understatement!

    Hello, Kristel!

I am very new to reading, so to say. I have never enjoyed reading for the 20 years of my life. I preferred to do other things, like going in for sports and socializing with friends. Not until recently. I am very grateful for this community, because people like you can be found here. I have some pretty crazy reading goals for the past 2 years of my life. And I am starting to get a taste of it. It is an incredible feeling and there is no way back to not reading.
I wanted to welcome you here, because I found 70 books in common with you and a lot of ratings are the same. I believe it would be interesting to talk once in a while and share impressions. I have a very long way to go with my reading, catching up with 20 lost years, but I'm sure it's going to be alright, especially with a community like this.

Hope you are having a good time. Thank you for attention.

    Sincerely,
    Bogdan.
