Nisareen - So Much To Read So Little Time says

Hello, I'm not sure which books are to your taste but if I may offer suggestions on books that have left a lasting impression on me, then I recommend:

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
    Z for Zachariah by Robert C O'Brien
    The Fury by John Farris
The Dead Zone by Stephen King
    Pet Sematary by Stephen King
The Outsiders by S E Hinton
Audrey Rose by Frank De Felitta
The Thorn Birds by Collen McCullough

The Anne of Green Gables series by L M Montgomery have mostly endeared me - they are very heartwarming but I don't know if they are your cup of tea. They about about an old couple who adopt a boy to help on their farm but they are sent a girl instead and how she goes on to touch their lives. Hope these books are ok for you.

Hey Kriss!! Its hard to simply pick one favorite... As I know you have surely inference, I am somewhat of a bookworm. ... But some of my recent, and subsequently, all-time favorites? I Know This Much is True (W. Lamb), The Diving Bell and The Butterfly (Bauby) and any of David Sedaris' iconic and always hilarious memoirs are always sure-fire winners. I hope you enjoy!!

    =)

I love reading. I am nothing close to an expert. I just love books. A lot of what I read has no meaning or purpose (fiction). I love escaping into a fantasy world. Please don't put me on a pedestal I just love books like everyone else on this site. Talk again soon. Tracey. x

Good day! Thanks for the note. You too, have excellent books on your shelf, some of which are actually on my wishlist. I see you like Agatha Christie too. It's a shame that she had passed on, else she would still be adorning this world with more of her tales. Happy reading to you too!

    Hello!

    Thanks for the note.
I liked all books by Sudha Murthy and Jhumpa Lahiri. I was not able to read "The namesake" & "Unaccustomed Earth" by Jhumpa Lahiri. What impressed me most was their simple style and use of language. Yet they leave a lasting impression. Their stories revolve around day to day activities. Iam sure, you will enjoy reading them.

On inspiration books - I dont read philosophy as I am unable to understand them.
Yet, i would recommend "Fish" and "Chicken soup for the soul". You will love these books. Again they are simple and very practical books. Both the books were so successful, they a series of them were written on reader's request.

Kindly do share your views on books as well.

I suggest that you always write a review on all the books that you read. It helps a lot, in choosing a new kind of book. You will find some in mine as well. I do that on the books which impressed me a lot.

    Happy Reading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said earlier, try J M Coetzee. His latest, which is the third of his memoir The Summer time, I have finished reading. I felt this one as his best. But I would recommend not to try this first.Try Waiting for the Barbarians and finish up all his other books and by the time you will understand his style and you will enjoy this one, I am sure. The first two in the memoir were Boyhood and Youth. And now Summer Time.Happy reading.

Hi Kris. Hope all is well. I have never read any of Agatha Christie's novels. I will have to put that on my list. I just finished Orange Mint and Honey by Carleen Brice. I loved that book. She's really a good writer I am now reading Going Down South by Bonnie Glover. That's also an excellent read. Take care and have a great week.
