Dear Sir, Thanks for your recommendations. Yes, I would like to read J M Coetzees books now. I have not read any novel for some time, except a few Agatha Christie's mysteries. It seems like good old times. Have a super week, sir.

Thank you for the recommendation sir, but unfortunately my polytechnic library doesn't seem to have a copy of the book. I am going to recommend it for purchase and try to get my hands on it when I can. However, just recently I read a book "The Outsider-Albert Camus" a short novel, it tells the story of a man whose lack of emotions gets him into trouble... he is really a writer with great insight..

    Hi,

Haven't heard from you in a while.

I actually have a Sparks book on one of my TBR piles somewhere, can't remember title. He seems like an author I'd like, just that his stuff sounds very sad. I'll let you know when I actually read him.

    Thanks again!

    Hi KPN,

As always, thanks for your recommendations. I'm sure I can't keep up with you, that I have been reading a lot (mostly fiction--paranormal and vampire romance). Am still waiting for my order of 19 Minutes and The Memory Keepers Daughter. I saw in the TV Guide where this is an upcoming, I believe it was a, Lifetime movie starring Dermont Mulroney (one of my favorite actors). But I'm going to have to put off watching it until I read the book.

    Again, thanks!

    Hi KPN,

I finally gave up on on Half of a Yellow Sun. It just wasn't grabbing me and I was in page 220. I think I gave it more than the benefit of the doubt.

Am reading three books now: Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh, part of her Psy/Changeling series; Strong and Sexy by Jill Shalvis and Parallel Desire by Deidre Knight (the last book in her Midnight Warriors series. I'll probably be reading them for a few weeks since I'm splitting my time between each (between bedtime, commuting and exercise bike :)

As always, thanks for the recos!

Wow, you really are a fast reader!

I am still reading Half of a Yellow Sun. I'm not enjoying it as much as I thought I would, so it's dragging. I find it a little heavy on the narrative and I'm not feeling a connection to the characters as I did with TKR and ATSS. I'm only at page 200. Normally, I would have given up by now (I give a book 50-60 pages, and if it's not pulling me, I put it down), but I'm trying to give this one a shot for some reason.

I ordered The Memory Keeper's Daughter though. Sounds like a really interesting read that I'd enjoy so I'm looking forward to it. Also ordered 19 Seconds by Jodi Picoult. I read a book by her a few years ago (I think it was A Second Glance) and loved it.

Thanks for the recos, as always ;)

Hope you have a great weekend!

    Hi KPN,

So far, I am enjoying Half of a Yellow Sun although I am only up to page 81. It's a slow read. A lot of narrative though the characters are interesting enough to keep me reading. Also reading Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward (4th in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series) and loving it! I'm not sure if you would like it. It's urban fantasy/paranormal romance. Fast-paced story and lots of action and I love the author's character development and world-building so it's very enjoyable.

Who is the author of The Memory Keeper's Daughter?

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Like your stories :)
I finished A thousand splendid suns last week ans I think its a wonderful book.
While I was in the first half I was constantly thinking that Kite runner is a much better book. But as I progressed I realized that it is not fair to compare both the books. But I Loved the end of A thousand better, except for Mariams fate, it was beautiful.
