Christian Novelist
Hello, Fellow Shelfarians! I'm Korika Johnson - a servant, wife, mother, daughter, friend, avid reader, Christian fiction author and lupus survivor, who is committed to giving God glory through stories of hope and helping spread lupus awareness and further research for the cure.
It is my desire, through my writing, to be a light before men. Drawing from my own experiences of depression, rejection, and loneliness, my message is of the pursuit of holiness and happiness that can only be reached by following the perfect example – the Lord Jesus Christ.
My debut novel, Joy Comes in the Mourning, which will be available nationwide later this year is loosely based on my life, in that I was diagnosed with systemic lupus in 2005 and quickly learned that the only cure is the wonder-working, healing power of Jesus.
An inspirational novel about two women whose lives are knitted together by tragedy, Joy Comes in the Mourning encourages readers that God has purpose behind, presence during, and preservation after every storm that comes our way. This truth is hard for fictional main characters, Tonya Monroe and Carolyn Wright to affirm when the storms of life rage and darkness threatens to overtake them. However, in the end, they realize that their only real hope is the grace and mercy of God.
While Joy Comes and the rest of my stories are fictional, the messages are true, Jesus is real and He heals. Mind, body and soul!
