I absolutely LOVE books and reading. I can't not be reading something. I really like womens fiction and "chick lit", even though sometimes it is a bit predictable. I love the Target Bookmarked selections. I try to keep up with them, but sometimes I have been disappointed with their selection. I live in Avon, Ohio a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio... more »

    The Ancient One says

    - If you would like to test the impact of a smile, why not set out one day with the intention of smiling at every person who crosses your path? You'll notice how most, if not all, of those people smile back at you and each time you are the recipient of a smile, you yourself will feel a tiny bit better again. The effect will multiply as the day passes, with each smile of your own making you feel a little bit better and each smile of someone else adding to this powerful effect. Each hour will become a very happy hour indeed.

Can you imagine what a beautiful place this world would be if everyone realized the powerful impact of a simple smile? How nice would it be if every time you walked down the street people smiled at you, or just smiled for the sheer joy of feeling their cheek muscles moving and their lips turning up at the corners? Happiness is a state of mind, it is experienced NOW, in this moment. Happiness just IS.

Hello, I'm also glad to see a picture of you! I wanted to let you know that I didn't get a chance to read the book, i'm reading it this week (i'm a slacker!) so Renee agreed to lead the discussion tonight. Would 8:00pm central time be too late? She said she could start it at 7pm but her kids don't go to bed until 8pm. Let me know. Sorry about not reading the book yet! I'm going to hate missing out on the discussion tonight! But i don't want to hear anything about the book that might spoil it for me.

    Talk to you soon,
    Melody

I know I love that cover too! Yeah Barb D. isn't so hot. I was listening to it in the car and I got it free at the library but I don't think I would get her again.

Hahaha...no I'm just a bit obsessive. Once I start reading something it becomes an obsession to finish it...especially if it's good! I feel so accomplished when I've read a book, lol.

I enjoyed The Diary, but not nearly as much as the rest of Eileen Gouge's other books.
