havnt started, so swamped with school work
WOOT I have shelfedness! and thanxed you! i loves your books!
yeah, seriously, for me, it was 'it is' and 'do not's; though, now that I'm in high school, I'm mad because teachers don't count all the fluff :/ but oh well, we can find other, non-obvious ways to fill up words X)
Yeah, it's a good story... I think, I can't understand it very well, but what I can understand is really good! But yeah, he got paid by the word so he adds a lot of fluff. Though, I can understand, I always do that to reports that have a word minimum. Haha
Hmmm, well I guess their way makes sense. But I agree with you to still disagree. I think you have made great progress on your goal of reading every book in the world, you have a lot of the American ones down. You should break the books down by country. Read all the ones in the U.S., then Canada, then probably Mexico. Haha, you could do a blog about it like Julie and Julia! Though I think you would need more than a year as your deadline. But whatever, I can't wait to read Prophecy of the Stones though. I'm all excited now! But first I have to read A Tale of Two Cities :P I am reading it for World Studies Class.
Wow, a 15 year old. That is awesome! And, yeah, it angers me, too. It's not only our loss, but it's the publisher's loss too because I bet they are losing money not publishing awesome books! It is just sad for everyone.
Yeah, our public library isn't very well stocked either. I didn't know that it's a french translation?! That's very interesting, for that, it gets moved up my plan to read list. Lol. But american publishers should buy foreign book rights, you never know what you are missing. It could be the best book ever written, but we wouldn't know because it's in a different language!
Haha yeah, I remember you borrowed it from McKenna when we went to her birthday party forever ago and you spent the whole party reading it! Lol! But we were supposed to return it and we never did, so I thought, hey, since I have it, I mind as well read it. Haha.
Kira, I found my very favorite childrens book on this! My all time favorite is Secret Garden. I read it in forth grade and became a gardener for life. Mrs. H.
Hey!! Gosh it has been crazy!! I knew you would love that series, once you start very hard to put down. You are going to be surprised!! All I am going to say is do not count Erik out yet or Aphrodite- You will come to like her!! Ok i am going to stop before i give to much away!! I finished the Gemme Doyle- WOW!! so many twist and turns, There were some surprised that iw as not expecting, but i love how she left it open that she could write another...kinda left it open. But i was sad with the ending of the third, but it did keep you on the seat of your pants!! I was impressed with the way she had the good go with the bad and that there were choices- it refreshing sometimes to not have the book go the way you think it is going to go-I am reading now Magic and Madness Triology, i flew threw the first one, very good also. I just started Magic Lessons, I don'tknow if the third is out yet. Well i can not wait will march cause alot comes out that i have been waiting for. I love Kelly Armstrong and Awaking is due out in march, so is Hunted (house of night 4th), Humm i can not remember the rest, i have to write tham all down so i do not forget!! I have a new Vampire series that a friend gave to me that i have not read yet- I will have to get the names and let you know, cause if you like LKH you will like these!! I started witht he Anita Series, I love them!!! Well have a good day and i willt alk to you soon!!
Don't forget book buddies next Wednesday. (It is a Silver Day...if that means anything) Also - don't let me forget to tell you about the Teen Literature Conference in Denver April 9th. I hope lots of you folks can go this year! Happy 3 day weekend! ~Mr. G
Ha! Yeah, I noticed. I could also tell by just glancing at the number of books on your shelf! Almost 900!!!! That's almost 1,000!!! And in dog years, that's like... *carry the one, multiply by the square root of foot* 50 million books!!!! ;)
Wow, Kira, you sure have given me quite a reading list, in fact, just reading your note should count as a whole novel in itself! Haha, just kidding. Thanks for all the book recommendations, they all sound great. I'll definitely look into them!I heard about some of the books that you mentioned now that I think of it, I've heard of Beauty, Blood and Chocolate, the Shopaholic series, and ... acutally, those are the only ones haha, but still, I was thinking about those! So thanks for the recommendations! :)
I'll look into the book Beauty. What's it about?Right now, I'm reading Confessions of a Shopaholic. I've only read the first chapter, but so far it's good. I saw a commercial for the movie based on the book, and I want to read the book before I see the movie, so yeah. Right now, I'm kind of back into my routine of reading really girly books, but I'm thinking I will start venturing out to the more supernatural, paranormal kind of books. I read this book, The Silver Kiss by Annette Curtis Klause, a couple years back, but I didn't really get into it that much, but I think I'll try reading it again. Of what I remember, it actually is a lot like Twilight; vampire romance and all of that.
Hi Kira-Sorry for not writing sooner, It has been crazy!!! Well I am reading Libba Bray her Series...A great and terrible beauty, Rebel Angels and The Sweet far Thing...I am on the last one now and it is great. There is such a great bond of friendship and it is great to read a book where the main character doesn;t know exactly what to do and you learn with her as she learns. I can't wait to see how this one ends. How did you like Nobody's Prize and Princess? They were great, i was hoping that she would have continued on with Helen. Well let me know how things are going. Oh..i also read LKH...Loved her!!! Only read a couple...so far really like her.Talk to you soon
YOU!!! You little Missy have to stop stealing my books!!!! Haha, just kidding, I've stolen from you so I guess we're even now :)Have you read any good books lately?
Yeah!!! I finished Breaking Dawn!!! I was so happy. Being serious, when Edward read Bella's mind for the very first time! OMG!!! That was so cute and romantic!!!! I loved it so much!!!!!!! Seriously, if I were telling you this right now, I would be screaming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :D I am so happy I finished it though
Oh okay, I'll check those places. And you're right, amazon is the "Fountain of Awesome" :)Yeah, you would need to be safely thousand of miles away, if it was just hundreds, then i would run the whole way just to slap you silly! (Well, maybe not run, I would probably have to jog and walk a little) :) Anyways, you know I'm just kidding, I would never hurt you on purpose. Maybe once on accident, but NEVER on purpose :D
Yeah, I'm glad there are more books too. I wonder where I could buy them though, cuz the only place I used to get them were my elementary school book fairs and I doubt my high school will have a book fair and if it does, those books probably won't be there. Haha. Darn! :(And yeah, if you were here right now, I would soooo slap you across the FACE!!!! lol just kidding...maybe... actually no promises will be made :D
