So have you ever seen The Kinks?
I saw them when they opened for Hall and Oates, Beauty on a Backstreet Tour, at the Richfield Coliseum, outside of Cleveland. I thought they had it all wrong ... Hall and Oates should have been the opening act and The Kinks should have been the Headlining Act. The Kinks have waaaaaaay more hits and their endurance in the music industry is amazing. The Kinks did play one of my favorite rare songs titled Hatred.
One of the best I've read is Clapton. It's his own autobiography. I never expected to laugh so much, but he is funny!
I haven't read Ozzy or the Steven Tyler book. It seems I know so much about them being a fan, but in all honesty, I'm sure they would both surprise me. I had tickets in my hot hands on 3 occasions to see Aerosmith back in the 70's. But they cancelled all three times. The last time they cancelled is when they broke up in Cleveland. Then they were gone from music for many years. Now it's 30+ years later and I've still not seen them.
Sadly, no.... this book is still on my wish list, as it is not yet available at my library. I love "The Moth" podcast (http://themoth.org/about/programs/the-moth-podcast), and so I'm looking forward to seeing some of my favorite performances in print.
Great bookshelf! I, too, have been reading presidential bios--am currently stuck on Millard Fillmore. Can't wait to get through his. I'm going to use your shelf as a guide for other bios. I'm not so much into horror, but I love reading southern gothic. We do have quite a few common books on our shelves. Take care--enjoy your reads!
Oops, this crazy iPad has some kind of auto correct feature and consequently it writes what it thinks I meant to say when in fact the iPad gets it wrong a lot.
I meant for that previous note to say I put in 35 years on my job.
Someday I'll figure out how to work these modern devices.
Thanks for the kind words. I've been retired for 2 1/2 years now. I out in 35 years on my job. Retirement is amazing in that I wake up everyday and say to myself, ''Yay, I don't have to go to work today.''
Do you work or are you retired, too?
P.S. Nice to meet you.
