Am a graduate in medicine, spent 35 years in the pharmaceutical industry with various multinational companies, like to read and travel. I own over 90% of the books on my shelves, the remaining percentage are with friends who forgot to return them. They also represent a birdseye view of the titles I have as putting too many of a given writer... more »

Hi! KC. thanks for the invitation...see I have been a bit busy and have not been on this site in a while...allthough, I am as always reading!! Why, did you say "my willingness to talk to strangers?" You have a very interesting shelf...we seem to have a lot in common in our taste for literature. Know how are you involved in Design and Neuroscience...You certainly have "piqued" my interest! -)

Hallo, je vroeg je af waarom ik niets liet horen - heeft helemaal niets met jou te maken, 'k heb gewoon niet zo veel te vertellen, King!

    Yeah King,

we warriors have to be quick in our responses. It's that split second, it could mean the loss of your life.

But I know that you know what I mean. Ok, you have a great day, and oh yeah, they classify Noah Jones as Jass. But what she is actually doing

is folk Music. Besides, you know that she is the daughter of Ravi Shankar, the sitarist?

    Peace!

    Simple,
we have some books in common. Especially Conan! I am a martial arts expert. I am also a weapons expert also.

Therefore, I fully understand the legend of steel. Steel in the days of the Barbarian, was
the era of steel. Steel was

and is that era's lfe source.

Then there are other books. Books like Of Human bondage and To kill a Mocking Bird! Have you ever

seen the movie? Gregory Peck was just awesome. But as for choosing you? I don't know, what do you think?

    Peace!

Hi, thanks for the note and the friendship invite.
KingConan as in Conan The Barbarian? With books on arms and warfare, and on Ansell Adams and The Joy of Sex (nog meer jeugdsentiment!) - well, strange combinations usually point to interesting persons. Glad you have found me.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Angelique actually has a lot of friends. A lot of men didn't read them because they were packaged as romance novels, but they are actually extremely accurate historical fiction. Here is a great website that tells the story of Anne Golons fight to get the rights back to her own books and why it has taken so long for them to get re-published.http://www.worldofangelique.com/

Thanks for the note, KingConan. There are actually many more books that we have in common that's not indicated by the system, The Three Kingdom, Mahabarata and Ramayana for instance. For the latter two, I particularly enjoyed a compact version by Rajagopalacari (I may have misspelled).
I do photography too, and I planned to have a photo blog sometime. But till now, I've only uploaded photos from my last trip to Lombok. You're welcome to check it out at tdjohan.multiply.com.

By the way, since you read Dutch, have you read Max Havelaar? Kartini? Or other old Indonesian works?

I find the non-overlaps to be quite interesting: Conan, Bond, comics? Never read them! The Asterix is my favorite BD. And long time ago I read a lot of Sidney Sheldon, I admit, slightly embarassingly.

Anyways, very pleased to meet you.

    Regards,
    Tony
