I love Fantasy genre books, some mystery/suspense, occasionally horror, classic horror not gore. Like Dorian Gray.

I recently discovered Michael Connelly and am on a Harry Bosch kick now.

I love fantasy books, some favorite authors are George R.R. Martin , Ursula K. LeGuin, Lois McMaster Bujold to name a few. Urban...more »

Glad you found Michael Connelly, Kimmay. I have read all of his books. One of my favorites, although it is not Harry Bosch, is Void Moon.

    Eclectic Book Club Peeps:

All righty, let's have those nominations for our next big read. What's everyone in the mood for?

Post your selections in the "Genres" thread and we'll hash it out. If that takes too much energy, I will put all genres nominated in a hat and pick one at random!

UKL is one of my favourite writers, read your recommendation question and decided to drop you a note. TToA is a tad dark compared to A Wizard, but I encourage you to read it before you read the third installment in the series --The Farthest Shore, which is excellent in my opinion. I'd also encourage you to read up on the Taoist philosophy that these books are inpired by after you're done with them.

    Hey Kimmay,
I don't come back to this website enough - maybe once a week. I'm very excited about the SparkPeople website. I'll definitely be there daily. I need to log my food and daily fitness. Plus it has an amazing array of information.

Kimmay, there are two books you asked for a recommendation on within the last day, but I get an error message. No cover shows either.

Kimmay, I received a request for a recommendation of a book from you, but there was an error and I can't see what book you wanted a recommendation for - I will say no for now so it will clear, but please send your request again and I will try to help you.

I've not yet finished The Anansi Boys. Until I saw your question, I'd forgotten that it got buried in my "in midst of" pile. That's what I get for reading too many books at the same time. I've really liked his other books though and would recommendt them highly especially Neverwhere.

In regards to The Elvenbane: I'm so sorry but it's been so long since I'd read this book. Some books are so memorable that they stick with me and I can say something about it but this isn't one of those books. I can't tell you "yea" or "nay".

No... Its okay that you are a little older. I said 'for teens' because although I love to read adult books, I still (because I am a teen) read YA and teen books, so they books on the shelf would probably focus on kid-ish books. But I'm glad to have all ages so the shelf covers more.
