Whenver I'm sitting down - which isn't very often - I feel compelled to be reading something. Anything. Even the back of a cereal box. I've loved books since mom and dad read aloud to me as a little sprout. Now I'm also a professional mom, homeschooler, blogger, author, and chief wrangler at "the 'ole testosterone ranch." I have 5 boys,... more »

Hello, Kikero. The Sandal Maker is a new book about the public ministry of Jesus from a unique point of view. Never before have you seen him in this light. It’s a story that will take you on a fascinating journey in first century Galilee. You can read reviews at Amazon.com. I’m including here the publisher's notes. Let me know what you think.

    Book Description:
In 70 A.D., a father and daughter risk their lives traveling through a war torn, Galilean countryside on a mission to reach Jerusalem, a fascinating journey that will change their destinies forever. Caleb, an elderly Jew, leaves the safety of his home in Cana on a mission to find a man he believes is in Jerusalem. Miriam, Caleb's only remaining child, accompanies him disguised as a boy. In the desolation of the war struck Galilean countryside, father and daughter risk their lives to journey south on the Jordan River trail. As they walk, Caleb intrigues Miriam with a captivating story of his youth that will change her future destiny. A story of a time forty years prior when he became a sandal maker in order to observe a man some called the Miracle Worker. Caleb secretly kept notes of the events he saw and heard as he followed the crowds. With his objective, skeptical point of view, he reveals the fascinating ministry of the one he called the "Master." Heart pounding perils and the threat of death endanger the two travelers, but nothing could foretell the fate awaiting them in Jerusalem!

    Hi Kikero,
Your profile picture is so pretty!! What mountain is that behind you? Is it a recent photo?

I noticed that you have read a few books on Andrea Bocelli. My sister really loves his music. Which one of the books would you recommend as the best one?

Hope all is well with you!!

    Blessings,
    Evonne

Hi, I read Captivating and Wild at Heart last year and was impressed. I gave Wild at Heart to my brother, who needed this book and read it in one breath, then I gave Captivating to my sister in law, who could use this book as well, I don't know if she read the book. Still, these kind of books do not solve all our problems, you must follow the advice as well.

I read you are a chocaholic. You should live here in Belgium...

    Kikero,

I didn't know Gingrich had a PH.D. I will have to take a looksee at Gettysburg. I might like it. I love history if it's reader friendly.

    Hi Kikero,

I have been looking at your bookshelf again. When I have time, I'm going to write down some of your titles. What are you reading now? I am almost finished "Snow Blind." It's very good. Usually, I read cozies. This isn't a cozy. The authors are mother and daughter.

Thank you for the invite. Yes, she is our family pet, Lady. Lady is a lovely, snuggly, quiet beagle. She even has blond eyelashes! Your bio is good, you sound very energetic. I wish I felt so compelled to do write as you do. or to do anything more creative than a to do list!
