I never read 15 novels at once :) With collections of poetry or essays for example, it doesn't really matter if you remember much, because one part doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the next. Also, I add books I read at work, and some of them are more reference type books, so I'm not really "reading" them cover to cover.
I don't understand it either. You can have discussions on book pages about the books, or in groups, but the easiest would be to have them here, on our own pages. They should add a discussions tab here too if they don't want us to use the noted function (though I don't see why they wouldn't).
We could of course suggest it to them (Shelfari Discussions & Questions page), but I doubt they'll do anything about it with only two people complaining :) I've tried to get them to add a search function for personal bookshelves, so that I could find books on my own shelf more easily, but no luck so far ...
Well, I'm reading about 15 at the moment, and, as you say, I have about 300 on my plan list, so no hurry ... ;)
Yes, I do think it's rather stupid. I hadn't realized it work like this until now. At least we get to see the whole "conversation" when we're writing a reply, but it's still strange to have half of it posted in one place and half somewhere else. And if there are more than two people talking about something you'll probably never see all the notes in one place. You'd have to create a group to have a proper discussion!
Hi :)
Will you let me know what you think of A Briefer History of Time when you've finished it?
It's on my Plan-to-read list ...
