Last Saturday I watched the Krewe du Vieux parade and received two strings of beautiful glass beads! I will have a drink for you during the Muses parade. What do you think of that? I am sorry to hear your brother in law is ill. I will certainly have him in my prayers.

I am reading more now than I have since graduation in 2007. It has taken me this long to recover from all the reading I had to do for grad school. If only I could be interested in light reading. But to tell the truth, even when I was a young girl I liked to read very serious books. Carnival season is here! My daughter will be down a few days before Mardi Gras. That wil be the best! Talk with you soon. Shirley

Merry Christmas! I just finished reading a book I found in a thrift store, my new favorite place to buy books. If I can remember how to add a book I will do that, and will try to keep up better this coming year. Thanks for the message.

No problem. I'm not wild about it either but you friends are now people you "follow" but people can "follow" you that you aren't friends with. Very strange and facebooky. Not sure this helps you but you can go into your account settings and make it more private if you want. You can also reject followers and block people too.
    Hope this helps

Khabira, I agree: "Half the Sky" was an amazing book! My book club read it last fall, and I'm so glad we did. I've been telling people about it ever since.

Dear Khabira, oh god, this message was way since Feb. :) I hadn't seen it until now. Strangely enough I usually get notifications in my email but seems to have slipped away! Thank you for your concern my dear friend and hope all is well with you. Needless to say, there are so many changes going on in my side of the world. Seems that the rebelling part and facing security police was the easy part of rebuilding a new constitution and a new set of rules. Bless you :)

Hi Khabira, What a terrific shelf! I notice that you've read a biography about Clara Barton, called "Woman of Valor," and have given it a good review. I've been looking for a bio Barton for some time, but have only turned up books for young adults. Is "Woman of Valor" written for an adult audience? Thanks, Darra
