it's a sunny sunday and the huge mall at the edge of town is packed with people come from all over, locals and tourists. the men dress in the loose clothing style that the times require, just as women dress in the reverse, in clothing too tight. everyone has a cellphone. they walk about looking in the windows, mulling through the merchandise,... more »

Hey Kevin, just wanted to say that your perspective of One Hundred Years of Solitude (from your review) really added a different way of seeing things for me, from the author's perspective. Good stuff, thanks.

Wow, shows how long it's been since I'v been on this site last, I'm just now getting your message Kevin.

I'm doing a podcast series on Blip TV now called Truther, I'v been doing that since August last year.http://Truther9.blip.tv/ Let me know what you think.

I'm living in Minneapolis now in an apartment on the Northside.

How about you Kevin? Gave up on your art work? Why? Get back to that, a man should always stick with his passion.

What's going on in Florida these days?

You're welcome to call me anytime.

Your post made me laugh! Thanks for the input. I should start reading it soon and I think I will enjoy it. I've gotten enough feedback to know I will either love it or hate it. I'm 25, so hopefully I'll fall in the love it category as you say rather than wanting to hurt myself. Thanks again!

I was surfing on shelfari, and guess what I found? You may find this very interesting…check out a member called( Indigo CT USA) This is the type of racism I write about in Cosmic Beginnings, but in my novel that particular element gets a major STOMP DOWN…looks like the K is still alive and well….that’s why I write so controversial and raw.

3 months after the fact... (my bad!)
My fav in 'Everything's Eventual' by King was 'Everything's Eventual'. I simply couldn't enjoy 1408 as I'd seen the movie about a year before reading the story. I didn't enjoy the movie. It just didn't 'scare' and it didn't feel like a true 'King' story. Not the fault of the actors, it appeared as though they gave all to make it work.

The first time I heard about 100 Years of Solitude I was 14. My brother had read it and said that I will see each member of our family depicted as the characters in this book. Well, I read it and did not see what my brother meant. I was able to see some similarities, but certainly not to the extent my brother assured me. Your description of this book, which I've read twice in my life and have recommended it to many, is the best I've ever read. I never thought of it the way you put. The author has so many layers in this story, which is convoluted, but one has to be patient and stick with it. If you let it, the story will let you see part of not just your family, but of yourself in an extended way. I still loved this book.

LOL! So glad I don't look like Mayberry's Goober- although I can be about as bright as him at times. !! Glad to see you here at Shelfari. Moe hasn't discovered Shelfari yet. Between Flixster and his ink toner forums, he doesn't have much time for other websites. I'll be certain to check out your shelf. Your readings might teach me a thing or two.
