Kevin

I love to read. Always have. Always will. Being read to at a young age really helped with that (thanks mom and dad!). My best memories of school growing up are of reading time, and it was so exciting when the family would take a trip to the public library. The anticipation of being able to pick from among so many books, bring them home with... more »

Actually, if you're talking about what I think you're talking about, I was just adding a series because I was approving its removal from the title and didn't want the data lost. I hope there are others fighting over content... :)

Thought I'd join the team in the all-night vigil. I'm certainly awake during more of the night than I used to be.

Congrats on getting TA launched. Can't wait to start combining...

We just finished reading the book thief for our bookclub. It was one of our best discussions. What do you think of death? I see you also have Moneyball on your shelf to read. Excellent choice! You will look at baseball a whole new way! Loved it!

    Hey Kevin,

How are you doing? We've been friends but we never exchanged messages. What was the greatest book you read? I know you might have plenty, but narrow it down to two or three books! I'd like to know!

Hi. I came across your site and thought since you appreciate the classics, you might want to check out the Classical Re-Education group that I admin. I think you'd be a great asset. Right now we're discussing Gulliver's Travels.

It's nice to see someone appreciating the classics. I hope you're enjoying Jane Eyre. I read it last year for the first time and loved it.

Hi. I think it's great that you read "Wives and Daughters" by Elizabeth Glaskell. She is one of my favorite writers. Did you ever read "Cranford?" It is also a really good book. They also made it into a mini series back in May and it had Judi Dench in it. Tracie

Gaskell died just days from finishing the last chapters. My edition of W&D included an ending written by someone who had studied her notes. My feelings were mixed, but at least it was an ending! I thought the BBC conclusion was nice, though I'm not sure Gaskell would've had her young Victorian lady traipsing around Africa in slacks. :)

Tim told me you're reading Wives and Daughters. An enjoyable read! Too bad she never finished it, but it's pretty clear where she was heading. Have fun...
