I am an English teacher in NY. I am constantly looking for new titles to interest my students, which means I am constantly reading. In between every three to five titles I like to indulge in novels for me, so I have an interesting range of titles on my shelf.

I liked this book, but I couldn't help being annoyed by it. The premise behind it was interesting and the opportunity to reflect on how one small action can snowball into something much greater was thought provoking. Maybe I was annoyed because this book is supposed to be an explanation into one girl's suicide, yet I felt as if the author only touched the surface. We learn of her ever-growing dismay, but I don't think we get the whole picture. Maybe that's the point...

I cried like a baby. In fact, I could not force myself to see the movie, for fear of embarassing myself.

I could not put this one down. My students had to point out to me that it could be read a couple different ways.

I thought this book was amazing. Zusak weaves a great tale that ends with a twist that I was not expecting.

This is, by far, my favorite novel. It took a few pages to get into, but by the end I was sobbing and the weight of it stayed with me for days.
