“Funny story of Pioneer Woman. I laughed out loud at some parts. Tells story of Ree Drummond's courtship with her hubby, Marlboro Man and their 1st year of marriage. Much of this story comes from her blog, but I didn't want to read it online.

You won't believe how many funny things happen to her. She's a great storyteller who draws in her audience.”

A Year on Ladybug Farm

“Quaint story of 3 girlfriends who move to a farm in Shenandoah Valley. The first 2/3 was more or less the on-goings of the farm. The last 1/3 delves more in the plot and produces tension where you become involved in their lives. At first I wasn't sure how much I liked it, but by the end I was hooked.”

“Very quick read. Loved the characters, as Sandra & Martha's relationship grew. Also liked the integration of women work, knitting, church, friendship and grief. Anne Bartlett did a great job in dealing with all these areas.”

In the land of blue burqas

“Interesting stories from a woman living in Afghanistan for 5 years, working with a non-profit. I was intrigued as I began this book and learned how women in Afghanistan really lived.

Although the object lessons the author used in conversations related truths to the native women, I did not agree with all the Biblical theology she claimed.

By the end of the book, I was skimming because it seemed to go too long, repeating itself.”
