I thank you kindly, Darling! Coffee spills never offend me!
You must! I alternately laughed out loud and ached for Elna making "grown-up" decisions as a young 20-something.
I saw The New York Regional Mormon Singles Halloween Dance on your shelf and was intrigued...just finished reading it last night. Thoroughly enjoyed reading Elna's story!
Okay,I just finished "The Girl Who Played With Fire" and it is a much faster book than the first one. I also watched the Swedish film of "The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo". Very good, but left out stuff from the book of course. Also very violent so beware. I split it up in 2 days on Netflix's instant movies. Now I guess I cannot wait for the third to get to paperback,so here goes spending more money on books, lol!
I am reading a lot of books right now from Audible.com and downloading them to my PDA. I love being able to walk around with a book in my ear, but they are not tangilble to share. I love John Grisham, too. Have you read the Painted House? It is one of my favorites, but not about law.
I read A Girl Named Zippy and LOVED it! I know you like Fannie Flagg...have you read Can't Wait to Get to Heaven? I just finished it and would be happy to lend it to you. Other books that I have especially enjoyed: Savannah Blues by Mary Kay Andrews; The Glass Castle – Jeannette Walls; Tall Grass, The Diary of Mattie Spenser and The Chili Queen by Sandra Dallas; Snow Flower and The Secret Fan – Lisa See; A Tree Grows in Brooklyn – Betty Smith; Memoirs of a Geisha – Arthur Golden; Lucia, Lucia – Adriana Trigiani; My Sister’s Keeper – Jodi Picoult; These is My Words – Nancy Turner; Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress – Dai Sijie; The Yokota Officers Club – Sarah Bird; One Thousand White Women; The Journals of May Dodd – Jim Fergus; The Honk and Hollar Opening Soon – Billie Letts; Patty Jane’s House of Curl – Lorna Landvik.
I'm not really sure how to use this site. Is this where you make a recommendation? Try A Girl Named Zippy and She Got Up Off the Couch, both by Haven Kimmel. I think you will love them.
