Reading is one of my many passions. I've read every single book on my shelf, and own most of them. My favorite genres are horror fiction, historical fiction, post-apocalyptic fiction, and Holocaust fiction and/or memoir. Some of my favorite authors are Stephen King, Dean R. Koontz, Robert McCammon, Laurell K. Hamilton, Anne Rice, Kim Harrison, etc. etc. I also like Thomas Hardy, Charles Dickens, Margaret George, Amy Tan, Iris Chang, Margaret Atwood, Alice Walker, Larry McMurtry, Edgar Allan Poe, Wayne Dyer, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Daniel DeFoe, L.M. Montgomery, Alison Weir, and Herman Wouk, as well as many more.
My favorite book of all time is "The Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank. I even own the Critical Edition!
Life-changing books for me have included the aforementioned "Diary of a Young Girl," "The Winds of War" by Herman Wouk, and "The Green Mile" by Stephen King.
I love books that take me to a different time and place. I used to read a lot of "trashy" romance novels when I was in high school, but I find them rather boring now. I read a lot of classics because I didn't read them in high school or college. I love tragic romances, like "Tess of the d'Urbervilles," "Return of the Native," "Dr. Zhivago," and "Anna Karenina."
....different times, different places....
