Reading is one of my many passions. I've read every single book on my shelf, and own most of them. My favorite genres are horror fiction, historical fiction, post-apocalyptic fiction, and Holocaust fiction and/or memoir. Some of my favorite authors are Stephen King, Dean R. Koontz, Robert McCammon, Laurell K. Hamilton, Anne Rice, Kim Harrison,...more »

So glad you joined Guilty (Reading) Pleasures! I thought it was about time we had a place to talk about those books we love to hate the fact that we read and own. I think there's always room to expand our lowbrow reading lol.

More exciting news at the Suspense & Thrillers Group…as you might already know that Keith Katsikas, author of “2060: The Newton Prophecies” will be leading a discussion on his book. We don’t have a date set up yet, but will in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, Amanda Stevens, author of THE DOLLMAKER, has also agreed to lead the discussion for May’s Group Read, which is THE DOLLMAKER. I’m really excited as this is something new and might become a new trend with our group discussions. If you’ve already read the book, come join us. If not, see if you can grab a copy. There’s still time as the discussion won’t begin until the first week of May.

Hi keri5707: I'm just amazed at how much reading actually goes on in this world where everyone has 24 hours per day. My question though is: is time the question or is it "where do I store all the books"?

Dear Keri707: If you enjoy books that take you to different places and different times, follow my main character Molly O'Dwyer, as she does both in the same novel. It's called HUNTING THE KING, and it's coming out in April. If you don't mind a little self-promotion, here goes:

HUNTING THE KING is a fast-paced page-turner that follows archaeologist Molly O'Dwyer into war torn Iraq in search of the remains of Jesus. ForeWord Magazine says: "Fans of intellectual thrillers and historical fiction will find a worthy new voice in Clenott. His best invention may be Molly O’Dwyer, a genuinely likeable heroine who more than holds her own in a man’s world. An ambitious scientist, she is also an observant Catholic whose heart and mind don’t always agree. Given such an auspicious start, the sequel can't come too soon."

While the book isn't available until April, you can find it on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kunati Books and other googleable sites. You won't be disappointed.

To get a good sense of how exciting the novel is check out the heartpounding trailer for the book at http://www.kunati.books/hunting-the-king-peter-clenott/. Or you can view it on YouTube or my web site at www.peterclenott.com. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Hi Keri. You're in one of my groups and saw that you liked Post-Apoc fiction and wondered if you could tell me some good titles to read. I've read the Stand, Swan Song and I Am Legend which I consider to be PA fiction. Are there others that you enjoyed, would you share them with me? Thanks/Best, Fletcher

Hi Keri5707! I'm still adding books, but we have alot of the same tastes I see! I've read every Dean Koontz, Stephen King and Anne Rice book there is, many of them more than once, and post apocalyptic fiction is also one of my favorite reads! I see some books on your shelf that I haven't read, but I'd like to! Keep up the good work, and happy reading! LeAnn
