I am a long time fan of fantasy, though I'm not one of those fantasy junkies that just grabs every fantasy novel on the shelves; I'm actually quite picky. While fantasy novels are my preference, I'm content in reading a good HP Lovecraft novel, or similar authors who take a more eerie and psychological direction with their works. Aside from that, I also enjoy good Sci-Fi and mysteries, as well as other well written fiction. In reality, the only books I don't care for are standard romances or poetry compilations, they're just not my cup of tea.
Growing up I used to read a lot of throwaway fantasy novels that I'd pull from the school or public library. Unfortunately this makes my list seem a bit empty as those books generally were throwaway novels, so I scarcely even remember many of them. After graduating from high school and going through college and all of that I admit that I didn't read much, if at all. I've recently gotten myself back in the habit of reading, so my shelf is still quite small. I'm also back in school yet again, so my backlog has really started to pile up. Once I'm out in February though, I'm hoping to knock that pile down a bit.
My blog (http://www.giraffefin.com/) contains many of my thoughts and comments on the books I've read since keeping it as well.
