Hi everyone! Reading has honestly saved me from a downward spiral in life. When things were going bad, I would escape to a different world with a book and everything for that moment would be okay. I don't have the time to read as much as I used to because I am trying to raise money for my husband. He has to have a kidney transplant and he's only... more »

Haha! I dont even know which books i left there, most of em are in my attic room. You've probably read most of them. Jane Austen books are there. If you would like to borrow any of them just let me know; my parents wouldnt mind at all if you came by. :) Bob and I actually put together a very extensive art basket yesterday!!!! It's awesome. it has a sketch pad, watercolor pad, watercolor paints, soft pastels, art-c emphera, a huge charcoal set, glue sticks, mini glue gun, mini glue gun sticks, glitter,i think that's it. But you'll just have to see it. You'll be excited. The weather is wonderful tonight, somewhat humid though. oh well, atleast it's not freaking HOT out! Did you all have fun in Etown? From Dead to Worse is Sookie Stackhouse novels right??

Sooo I am so excited for Josh's benefit dinner!! If you need anything let me know. :) I don't get on here much either, maybe just to update some things. And as you have noticed now I'm reading not one, but FOUR books....which two of those I left at home. Bummer!! and this site tells me that I'm behind on my readins, guess I have a lot of reading to do. I'll be trying to beat my number of books read from last year which was a measley 9 books i think. We'll see what happens. Hopefully the rest of the summer will provide me with the time I need. We both know that when I start school again I won't have hardly any time. Anything new with you?? I'm glad to hear that UK called you back about the tickets. :) That is amazing!!!!

Hey girl!! I can't wait to come home. I miss you all terribly. But one good thing that has come out of me being alone so much is i READ a lot more than i have been lately. Maybe it's because I have no homework to fry my brain and really not much work to make my feet tired. I can finally focus on me, myself, and I. :) And I keep remembering...no matter how lonely I am reading always removes me from "reality".

Woohoo! I can't wait till summer time then. right now I'm watching hoarders/hoarding w/e it is. It's insane that people actually live like that. I could NEVER let that happen. The weather for the past few days has been beautiful! Just hope it stays that way. Anways, I FINALLY mailed your letter today, sooo you should be getting it Friday or Saturday. :) Sorry it took so freaking long, but you could understand my frustrations with my fried laptop. Hopefully i can get it repaired. But I'm not too sure about my hard drive. Bob's coworker is gonna try to get stuff off of it. So pray and cross your fingers!!! Oh! Guess what!!!!

Hello, Kelsie B. and welcome to Women Speak! I didn't like "The Secret" at all. I thought Rules of Survival was very well-written, though.

    Kelsie,

I am completely ready for your wedding!! I can't wait to see you in your beautiful dress! I bet you'll look stunning. I requested off work for the 4th and 5th, so hopefully they will accept it and won't give me issue. I can't believe that the summer went by so fast and we hardly got to hang out at all. it kinda saddens me....i didnt get to spend all the time i wanted with you this summer, but we're all so busy..well SOME of us are, not all. You're probably the busiest out of all of us; dealing with your wedding and work. Weddings are such a big event to deal with, but it's almost here. Sometime soon you'll have to come and spend the weekend or night at my place. you'll love it!! It feels just like home. We need to go swimming again at the fish and game. That was probably the best time i've had all summer with a friend. Anyways girl, I gotta get off here and do some hardcore studying! I love you!! Hope you are having a wonderful week and weekend!

You should have told your aunt that the author, Stephanie Meyer, is a Mormon! She brought religion into vamp stories, the whole Carlisle and not taking humans, their "vegan" lifestyle is because of the soul and heaven. But look how people reacted to Harry Potter, the banned book list? These stories are about imagination and letting children actually have one, when I was young that's what we had, we didn't have toys that did everything for us. What's happened to people that they prefer their children in front of a video game instead of using and stretching their imaginations by exploring the impossible in a book? I don't get it.
You know, a relationship is successful when both people recognize the importance of it and each other. There's hard times, no one is immune to them, but when you're committed to each other, you get through them. And no one can predict who's going to last and who isn't, so don't listen to anyone about that. Sometimes I'm surprised Patrick and I have made it, I always thought we would, but you never know what life is going to throw at you and we've had a lot tossed at us over the years, and we're still together. Through thick and thin, 18 years married next month, so there is no predicting.
Summer vacation, I'm really hoping to catch up on some reading. I think if I read 12 hours a day for the rest of the year, I would still have another year of reading to do, and that's not buying any new books either. I haven't even been going by the Goodwill or McKay's (huge used book store) because I already have so many to read. But I promised the kids a trip to McKay's this week or next, so I'm actually going to clear a few out when we go because I know I'm going to find more when we go in. I have a long list of want to reads. But if that's my only problem right now, finding the time to read all the books I want to read, then I think I'm doing pretty good.

Congratulations on college! You'll do well and time will fly by. And married life is great. I see people I know divorcing and I'm like "No way." I would not want to be entering my 40's, single with children. Or even without the young children. By the time you get to this age, all the men are on their 2nd or 3rd go round anyway. But we're going to have 18 years this year and even though we've had rough spots, we've stuck together and I would do it all over again. Love him more now than I did 18 years ago. So sometimes it's tough, but it's so worth it.
Quinn is turning out to be very interesting, the direction she's taking him in, didn't see it coming. But now I have to wait a year for the next one. And I pre-order on amazon whenever I can and I got Lover Mine for $9.99. WalMart has been trying to cut in on their book business since last year, and amazon will match any price so at some point they were selling it for $9.99 and I get the lowest price between when I order and when it's released, so lucked out. A friend in my book club reads JR Ward too, she was so mad because I said something thinking she had ordered from amazon too, but she stopped and picked it up at Books-A-Million and...she way overpaid. But as soon as I have a title or know there's one coming, I preorder, even if at the time it's list price because it will go down. And with amazon with a $25 order, no shipping and no taxes. I save all the way around. I have books pre-ordered sometimes 6 months before release. But I have a ton of books to catch up on. I enter contests and I've been winning all kinds of books so my "to read" pile is enormous!
The new Sookie wasn't too bad, but she didn't end it. She really needs to because they are seriously way out there, but I guess as long as she's making money...But I do love the show. And they're different enough you can love both. Just like the Dexter's, love that show! So ready for them both to start their new seasons.
And I love book club, sometimes books get picked that just aren't my style but I'm still glad I've read them. Sometimes I've been really surprised, I've actually enjoyed them. I still remember dreading when Mary by Janice Cook was picked, I didn't want to read about Mary Todd Lincoln but I loved it! I didn't know she was such a nutcase! Literally, she had to be committed so she was certifiable! Very interesting. So I usually try them, even when I don't think they're to my taste, and I have hated a couple too. But sometimes we get the sex in there, I haven't been brave enough to put a JR Ward yet, some might be really offended. And some may be totally converted...

Hi! Didn't see the note until just now. How are you? How's school and married life? Did you guys get any of the flooding a couple of weeks ago? I know it stretched from KY to MS, TN got hit really bad but we were lucky here. We don't have any rivers or lakes, just streams and creeks, but they turned into raging creeks and rivers. I've never seen it like this, so many have lost everything, and it's really hard from some counties, no jobs and barely hanging on, then to have this happen...
Yes. Lover Mine is good, but it's JR Ward. My guilty pleasure. I was worried that she was ending the Brotherhood series because of a comment at the front of the book, but she can't end it with this one. She opened new doors so have to see where they lead. About the start the new Sookie now. I have heard it's the last of the series and honestly, needs to end because it's just getting stupid. I've got a couple of her Grave series but haven't had a chance to get to them yet. I can't wait for True Blood to start back though, love that show!
Keep in touch! Summer vacations about to start so hoping I can catch up on some reading!
