Well I finished the Maze Runner series and though the last one was good the first one is the best if you ask me! I am reading the second book in the matched trilogy now and so far I like it! I suggest you read Legand if you haven't all ready it was amazing and I can't wait to read the next one! Also Born was a great book too! I'm not very good at remembering authors so you will probably have to look them up on my shelf if you want!:)
I read the first 2 of those milk carton books but they felt like they were written for that 8-12 yr market, which I'm not so keen on. I prefer YA or picture books, but not really the in-between stages. I heard that years ago a movie was made (bk 1 and 2) and I'd quite like to see that, though I'm picking it will be pretty much in 80's style dialogue/setting etc. (HAHAHAHAHAHA! I was a teenager in the 80's!!! Sure, you can go ahead and laugh - I don't mind) LOL
I actually quit on Chains. It was just a bit slow and the voice was a bit irritating (audio book). Pity :( The sequel is called Forge, I think, if you go on to read it.
I just finished Jodi Picoult's latest The Storyteller which was fantastic! do you like her books? And I'm listening to a Michael Morpurgo book called Waiting for Anya and loving it :)
Oh, and I'm studying photography for the next 2 years. Go me!!!!!
It's been ages! So sorry about that! For a while I was working nights which was so totally unsociable and I hated it, but the contract finished Jan 6th so now I'm freer, though I have to find another job :(
Anyway, howz life been with you?
Books that stand out recently for me have been Scars by Cheryl Rainfield, which was about a girl who had been sexually abused and started cutting to deal with it all and the Janie series starting with Face on the Milk Carton by Carolyn (?) Then I read Garden of Stones, which I loved. All of these are on my shelf - check it out! I love Carol Matas as an author and read another of hers called Whirlwind. She writes a few about the Holocaust. I'm listening to Chains on audio at the moment and plan to listen to the sequel as well. How bout you? I'm totally over all the werewolf/vampire stuff and not really got into the dystopia stuff, though Hunger Games was amazing. I prefer the "issue" novels about pregnancy, drugs, fitting in, first love, friendships, terminal illness, rape, and those coming of age stories. I mean, books about people dealing with some of life's toughest moments, y'know? Not sure exactly why, but maybe just because they all hold life lessons and remind me of how hard growing up really was. Make sense?
Hope your life is happy :)
Drop me a line if you feel like a chat :)
Yessss, i read the first one!!! And aofvivfobdfokasdc it was soooo goood omg!!! I had heard heapsss about it, as it had just come out in the movies and was everywhere and everyone was saying to read it! So I decided to and read it so quickly! It was amazinggg! Im up to the second, but have only read a few pages - so busy with homework and everything! What year are you in again? I forgot- havent spoken to you in so long ahaha, and obviously have the WORSTTT memory!
I just realised I'd changed my pic to one of Rihanna so now I've changed it back!! I just love Suburgatory!!! The father is such a sap but still kinda cute! And Tessa's great. Love that really plastic thicket....Dahlia??? Such a great show!!! I don't really have time for tv during the week but catch up some shows in the weekend: Big Bang Theory, The Middle, Criminal Minds, Mike and Molly, Two and a Half Men (Aston Kutcher's lame in it tho), and of course Suburgatory. Criminal Minds is my all time fave. What else do you watch? I love Fashion Police too and occasionally watch Guilliana and Bill.
Can't find anything decent to read atm and keep quitting after just a few chapters. Glad you're liking Spirit Bear. I wish there was a third one. I am listening to a Karen Rose book on audio and I just finished one by Lurlene McDaniel called Hit and Run which I enjoyed. I've got a cold so maybe that's why I'm so restless???? Mind you, I get this way when I'm preoccupied with my own book. Reading kinda irritates me and I just think of what I'm going to write when I next sit down at the computer!!!! It's so annoying cos I only really write cos I love reading so much, y'know? Natural progression I guess....
What are you up to these days? Tonnes of hwk?
I'll check out your shelf again and see what you've got for me to try :)
