Hi Katie, Cute pic! I just got a note from my friend Moke, and when I looked at it, I saw your note just below from 9 mos ago. Oops! It's been a long time since I've been looking on here too, though I have been trying to log books I read. How's it going, and what are you reading now? I got a funny-looking mystery, Agnes and the Hit Man, at a library shop sale last week and was sorely disappointed at all the cuss words in the first 2 pages so I put it down. I don't have anything else. Let me know if you've got a good clean cozy mystery suggestion. :) thanks!
Welcome back- love your new pic. I think your hair has changed since the last! I haven't been on here much either. Still reading, but home schooling, baking, hosting teas etc. My kid got her black belt this week, that's the big news here. Hope all's well on your end. Happy reading! :)
What a neat postal person. Sounds like one it would be fun to invite in for a cup of tea. I n our old neighborhood in SC the guy wouldn't come til 5 or 5:30 pm because everyone knew he loved to stop and chat and have doughnuts! That was quite annoying to be the very last house on his route! Although he was so sweet who could complain. And I know I am a freak for mail so I tried to just be relaxed about it. But I am very happy for early-afternoon delivery at the new place. :)
ps now snow yet- lots of rain, and it is supposed to turn into snow this afternoon. A good stew day!
I love that series and someone just told me the author had written a bunch more since I read the first ones with a quilting friend 10 yrs ago. I'd forgotten all about her! I can't wait to get restarted!
Have a great weekend. We may get more snow today so I need to get a book for sure! I haven't tried to work on getting my newsletter emailable this week. i will try over the wkd. I am disappointed you never rec'd the ones I sent by post. What's the post coming to, I ask!
No, I sent it by post which is why I'd asked for your address a few wks back. Maybe you didn't get it or it got thrown out by accident if you didn't know who it was from. :) Let me know, I can always send another. Also, Lipton's doesn't sound bad. I don't find fault with many! Recently I even got some pomegranate for Christmas and was delighted to enjoy it to, I hadn't expected to.
Thanks for writing! I hope you got the newsletter. I am not reading much except picture books right now. We've been working on art for an upcoming show but just submitted our work to it so maybe I can manage to read a grown up book. I did just finish an interesting one that took me months and months to read and a friend had lent: Radical Womanhood: Feminine Faith in a Feminist World. It outlines the history of feminism and was really interesting as far as seeing the way feminism has changed our society. I highly recommend it, even though it isn't what I call reading for pleasure. I don't know what to say about loans and benefits. We are very thankful our rental property is rented out right now! :)
Hi. We have had a 20-game package to Brewers games for four years but gave them up this year. I have a son going to college and two boys and a girl in travel baseball and softball, and I help coach their teams. So it was part practical, part financial. My book has a pretty prevalent baseball theme. The Giants are mentioned in it (briefly at the end), but will be more of a factor in the sequel. A person who bought my book, contacted me and then reviewed it on amazon. He liked it, but in the process of our conversations, he mentioned a book called Man on Spikes, which I intend to check out. He claims its a must for people who like baseball stories. Take care.
I used to watch his show when I was little. Who would've thought he'd have a good book too? As for me it's slow going right now. I am reading one Psalm from the Bible every morning, and about 2 pages of that mystery book, Easy Prey, to my husband as we go to sleep at night. In between there just doesn't seem to be time. I am working on a painting for a Jan 17 submission deadline plus doing a little schooling of my Kindergartner. Once my painting is done I hope to read more. Here's to more reading in 2010! :P
Hi Katie, I saw you just added to your shelf. Let me know what you think of that Walk Two Moons book. A friend recommended it and I still haven't gotten to it. Is it a Young Adult book? I just joined a group, YA books Adults Should Read, but haven't had much time to go on their page and browse. Either way, enjoy! :) p
