Yes, I am enjoying LOTR. The books seem to be much better than the movies, of course.
I am currently reading LOTR. But, I would like to read more of the classics, especially since they are free on my Kindle. Did I tell you I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas? I was not sure if I would like reading on it, but it is actually quite enjoyable! Talk to Anj, and I will try to set up a private discussion...Also, how was the Gemma Doyle series?
I miss you guys! I was thinking that maybe we could continue bookclub on a private discussion group on here. That way if things get busy or our schedules don't sync up, we can still read 1 or 2 books-of-the-month and discuss them on Shelfari. And the wine and cheese? Well, maybe we can have a glass of wine while we are typing... :) I really miss our bookclub. Just read through some of our older messages about getting together and about taking the train to book signings in the city. Hopefully we can do something soon!
I was very interested in the JFK assassination conspiracy theories for quite a while. Although I don't believe in most of those theories, they are still interesting to read...I have never heard of the Gemma Doyle series. I searched them on Google, and the story looks interesting - right up my alley with the fantasy fiction. Let me know how they are. Right now, I am just trying to get through The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel and Oroonoko (which is incredibly short). I have decided that I will try to complete the 1001 Books to Read Before You Die series. I have about 30 read (and if I had actually completed the books for school and our book club, I would probably have 100 read.) I like having the goal. Things have been busy with the holiday season, so I just get a little bit of reading done each day.
Yes, I am well, and I hope the same for you. I have always enjoyed Stephen King, but haven't read any of his lately. He just had a new book published. Have you read it? And what were you reading in Dickens? I haven't read the Hunger Games, but I have heard a lot of good things, and they are on my list of books to read. Currently I am reading The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series (Young Adult), but I wouldn't really recommend it to anyone...And, I would like to start reading The Infernal Devices series, because they look interesting, but I am not sure if I want to start another series just yet. :)
I didn't realize you still used this website. I use it, but it has been a while since I've finished a book. I finally finished one yesterday, and when I went on today, I saw that you had been on yesterday. Do you use it alot?
Hola!
Sent it again. Do I have the correct email address for you? kbelladone@yahoo.com?
Did you ever get that copy of the email on Che the Cat? Just wondering if it got lost in cyberspace. See you on the 28th
I'll send to your kbelladone@yahoo.com - is this the best email?
Hey kbella, I had fun too! Thanks so much for the reminder about East of Eden....I totally forgot. The visit got a tiny bit weird on Sunday when we were at Central Park and I found out about "the cat named Che...." ....-(our cousin named her cat Che and Missy indicated Che was their hero.) I managed to keep a-politcal until then....I stopped short of causing the progressive rebels to start a riot though. I could send you my email on the subject of che if you are interested; D Love Ya
Welcome to the group based on the book 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. There is a general explanation of the group under guidelines. The book(s) of the month (BOTM) that the group is reading are pinned to the top. I hope you will be able to enjoy the group and perhaps join in one or more of the monthly reads. We pick our next books for February about mid January. I will be posting the choices real soon. We are currently reading Lady Chatterley's Lover by DH Lawrence and The Spy Who Came in From the ColdLook by John Le Carre.
I would love to see the booksigning for John Irving...maybe we can read the book before then....??
Mondays or Tuesdays are best for me. I'm not sure what we should read next. I'll let u guys decide.
What?? You haven't finished the host?! You're crazy!! We need to start the book club soon. I've been missing you guys.
Nobody goes on this thing any more...
Team Jacob thongs.....I'm getting a team Edward one http://www.cafepress.com/twilightlexicon.157731950
How's the Shakespeare class coming along?!
Count me in on the whole vampire for Halloween idea. But are we dressing up as Twilight vampires or vampires with capes? Because the Twilight vampires just looked like normal people with gorgeous facial features and muscles. I'm not too sure that I can get chiseled abs in time for Halloween...
Hot Topic has Twilight t-shirts....I saw an ad online
