I love books because I can be in lush greens of Afghanistan one day and the valleys of San Francisco the other, I can live the life of a lady and fall in love with a Knight or be 8 again and relive my childhood.

    Hello,

Cool this morning. Difficult to tell but it looks like we have a bit of frost on the ground. Mother Nature has a mind of her own.
May your flowers always be in bloom.

We start with a shiny new pot of boiling water and add too many evil vampires, and not enough of the good biters. Toss in one suicidal Dracula; add a cup of mayhem and a dash of romance. Oh yes, and a pinch of mirth. Stir lovingly and you have a new novel by A. J. Gallant. If it sounds like the recipe for you then you must read Dracula: Hearts of Stone.

Please check out my author page for excerpts:

    http://www.independentauthornetwork.com/a-j-gallant.html

Some of the characters in Dracula: Hearts of Stone

Dracula is a good guy / Jenny is a powerful 12-year-old wizard that doesn’t yet understand her own abilities / The author Piers Anthony is a vampire / Tessy is a vampire dog /Moon Diamond is a vampire Siamese cat that is possessed / Lauren is an extraordinary red sheriff

    Hi,

It was a good read, but very depressing. I was furious at times with all the injustice and felt a great deal of frustration knowing that things like these still occur, not only in Afghanistan, but all across the world. And yet, nobody seems to be bothered. During this time I also read 'Princess' (biography of a princess in Saudi Arabia) which made things only worse ('Kite runner' and 'a thousand splendid suns' also vivid at the back of my mind). I deal with Afghani taxi drivers on a regular basis (since i'm also in saudi) and it's very difficult not to start assaulting them. Hey, they might be nice guys for all i know.

So, after 'for the love of a son' and 'Princess', i decided to stick with less depressing literature until i have the guts to pick up 'daughter of Iraq' which is waiting on my shelf...

    What did you think?

    I Love you

I love you to the moon
I love you to the end of the planets.
I love you till there's no love in the equator
I love you knowing nothing could be greater
I will love you from now until decades later.
Let me love you now not later
    Let me love you to
    Northern skies
    Western hemispheres
    Without worries, fears or cares.
    Allow me to love you
    Until you care
    Open up-heal from old wounds
    that you start to share.
Our love is genuine-it can't compare.
    Now your love has opened
Like a brand new gift on Christmas
See what happens when you allow
    Someone to love you.

I found the curious incident of the dog in the night time really cute, because of the way it has been written.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time was a decent book. I liked it enough to recommend it but not enough to call it The Best Book.

It is great to meet someone else from New Delhi. I lived there for 10+ years :)

I'm not so sure you will enjoy it. It is written from the point of view of the main character - a boy (15) with Asperger's Syndrome. It isn't romantic at all, it's pretty gritty. It IS well written, but after looking at your shelf I think it might be a little bit too different for you. FWIW, anyway.

Yes, definitely read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night. It's even better on audio.
