Hello, I am Katy E, I am a teen and I live in New Zealand. I like reading, talking about books, photography, art, creative writing, golf, drawing, shopping....... ah but I digress.

Recently, in the past year, I have been attempting to read around - in part because I needed to experience new styles to make my own writing better rounded,... more »

Feel a lot better already...but means I have to go school on Monday :(

100 pages...quantity yes, but not quality...when I go through editing it (if I decide it is worth salvaging) it will take months and months - I'm going to go through it veddy carefully, hopefully I will know what I was talking about when I wrote it - the first 20 or more pages is just the narrator in absolute darkness, in the nothingness, done using stream of consciousness - I have a problem with clarity when I write.

Quite "exciting" hmm my cat must have jumped up on the keyboard...yes that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! ;p

I will have fun, I'm hoping also to see another Beckett play in January...but that is if they decide to show it. I've got my interview date with Cambridge - on dec 9th - not as nervous as I thought I'd be.

Never heard of it...will check it out...now...or later..or sooner...

Funnily enough I have a bad headache and didn't go school today...but the depression is gone...we are finally doing some interesting stuff that ain't as mundane as usual,..who would have known that polarity would be so interesting?!

I'm going through a bit of trouble with my story...on page 100 and something and the writing was..well...writing itself, now I feel like the end is coming up soon, but need another 9,000 words (about 25 pages)...the best I'll get (without rambling) is 4,500... I could either insert a couple of chapters or stop below my target...choices! choices!

Nope, haven't read Carrie, but have read The Shining which was EXCELLENT...I ould definitely recommend it, so gripping - a real "page turner."

Graphics and maths...?...sounds like..er...sounds like...fun? ;p A nice weekend then, I need to start getting a move on with my English Coursework...the teacher is really starting to piss me off about what I can do and can't do...apart from that I have a no work weekend...on monday I'm quite exciting; going to see "Endgame" at the Duchess Theatre in London...which is something different...ya?

    See ya

    Hi,

Ignore my last posts, I've been going through a period where I feel like I should be seeing a psychiatrist...;p...school just keeps getting me downer...and downer...and downer...

If I were in your position I would probably put the 70 page story down, but I wouldn't recommend doing that! Maybe you should shorten the story slightly, you should finish it though...it'll give you a nice feeling (I guess.) I was going through a writing depression for the last week (before yesterday) and was so close to giving up on Nanowrimo, but then, yesterday, I had a brilliant day of writing where I enjoyed, and I liked, what I got down...keep the other idea written down, so as it is always there for when you finish your current story, and then you will have more time to think about it...this be my advice take it or leave it...that be your choice... ;p

    Bye then ;-p

Sorry, I just noticed your note, it took me a day to read ;-pNot sure about the university video lecture thingy...I'll check one day...The cubes are in there...just gotta look closely...all the edges have been curved but the outline can be seen - in the pics I've seen anywayI'm on 20,000 words so far - enjoying, but it will be annoying (to go through when I've finished.)Never watched House - there aren't too many television programmes that attract me...The Beckett quote... read it again and again...I just love it!...and him! ;-p see ya!

Luckily a couple of my friends can share in my depression - they can't wait for next year and university, lessons are mundane at the moment and I just can't see any point in going in... It's good to hear someone else is having fun ;-p school newspaper sounds like fun, we have a magazine but I am to lazy to participate and plus articles are not my thing - good luck with the dancing contest!

Cubism is quite interesting - I read up on it a bit when I done a "Modernism" presentation last year - have you heard of "Tamara de Lempicka" -? Some of her paintings (which match cubes with curves) are amzing - google them!!! Impressionism is also veddy interesting, especially in terms of literature... tut tut tut on the internet when you should have been doing homework...it must be catching ;p

Nanowrimo is (I think) National Novel Writing Month where you have to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days - it is surprisngly fun, although I'm just using it as a writing exercise and I don't think many people would be able to read my novel!

Makes me feel better...kinda...I have Cambridge Interview Practise on thursday and really think that is such a waste of time...

has it come back to you? ;-p

    Hi, long-time-no-type

Life is going good...apart from school which is just sooo depressing...how's is school (and life in general)

What did you do for your art assignment - written or practical? I cannae draw to save me life!!!

I've written two short 30 minute plays since the last time we spoke - one I was happy with, the other not so. Both were done as a homage to "Samuel Beckeet" and "The Theatre of the Absurd" - the latter is veddy interesting, especially if you're into theatre! So, are you happy with the quality of your 62 pages? I'm taking part in Nanowrimo this month (have you heard of it?) - my story is veddy veddy hard to write because of the plot (or lack of plot!)

I applied about three weeks ago for the unis, now I have to wait for my Cambridge interview (in December) and the other universities (in January or February.) I'm very nervous...out of the five I applied for only three are options I would like....

    Wet T-shirt competitions? Wait...lemme think...oh yeah...i remember now...but I thought we weren't talkin' 'bout it!!! ;p

    All is well...right back at'cha!

    Heylo Katy!

    :) I'm comfuzzling like that.

Good-- basically everything is the oppisite over there is our rule of thumb now- agreed?

Yes, grades go all the way through. BY forms do you mean like freshmen, sophmores, juniors and seniors? We have those, but they're still 9-12 grade. I'm reasonably less confused too :) Oops, sorry, forgot to include it! The list was so long in the making I forgot :P Because I started kindergarten late. I don't know why, or if there even was a legitimate reason for it, I'll ask my mom some time :P

Kind of autumny... not much leave falling and all the lovely colors, but it's getting cooler. What's it like there? Summerish, like you said? Oh, congrats on the first sunburn. Must be fun and COMPLETELY worth the honor, hm? ;)

Dork-- hehe, just kidding :) I like math more now too, so I get what you mean. Not enough that I'm not envious of you homework cage, but oh well enough! Wow, have "fun" with you test (which was like 3 weeks ago? Oops!) :) I have to do matrices tomorrow. Maybe I should get me one of them fancy hdhds's :)

"See" (metaphysically and whatever all that other random crap was!) you soon,

    Meggin

Not enjoying English so much now... "Enduring Love"... by Ian McEwan... what a - ! Most boring book I have ever come across... over-reaction? ye...NO! Terrbile, awful, he is soooo up himself that he needs a kick up the backside... over-rated trash! Plus, we are going to read Shakespeare... I'm not fan!!!!! Narrative is always fun... the only thing I always enjoy and we don't do enough of it!

How's the writing going? I'm writing me self a play at the moment... a play in five acts... I have all the characters, scenes, plot, acts... now... just have ta get on writing it...

Got to get in my university applications this week... thought I had a whole month to do it in, but since I'm applying for Cambridge it has ta be in by the 25th (this month!!!!) Finished my personal statement (where I give a load of bullcrap about why I wanna dot he subject - I left out the part about the wet t-shirts contest though ;-p) and got most of my references from teachers, but what cannae say what to do next... because I don't know!

I didn't end up going to the protest... had a nice sleep in instead ;p I know already... I'M LAZY... anything interesting going on? Apart from that interesting story you were telling me about... sounds hysterical... or scary... or both... which ever ya want me to say ;p

    All is well... backatcha!

Hey Katy-You should check out Sabriel, by Garth Nix, if you haven't already--I just finished it and loved it! Nothing beats a strong female protagonist with a really big sword! It is kind of along the lines of Alanna and some of the Lloyd Alexander books we've talked about. One of these days I'll post a review.

Well, I did tell you I was a lazy writer ;p Oh, sorry, I forgot all about that one and every time I remembered was when I was not in the mood for typing - I'm going through that phase where only book talk warrants replying, but I'm fading back into the biz (school started this week and it is as booooring as ever - except English which has picked up.)

I'm reading a book, which I'm hoping to get close to finishing by the end of the night and I'm probably going on a protest tomorrow so should really get some kip - so, will answer the looooong note tomorrow when I get on... I also thought you may have been getting tired of the drudgery and (to quote you) tedium of writing looong notes...

ok.... does anything I wrote make any sense to you? My eyes are starting to get sleepy and I don't want to go sleepy yet... but... may have... to.................
