"Wrong Place, Right Guy" 3/5 The nudging of noses made me think they were more dogs than humans. Not my type of romance story.

"Not You" 2.5/5 Squeezing of arms and biceps got old. Total BS in how they were related, but mostly that they would base love on addicted lust.

"Desperately Seeing Cupid" 3/5 I liked this hero almost as much as the first story, but again a little hard to buy the build up to the hea.

"Never Been Dumped." 3/5 Okay, but again with not buying their hea. I felt the story concentrated too much on the expiration date and not enough on the reason they didn't want it to sour.

Overall, not a bad way to kill some time. Cute stories if heavy on some fake sugar instead of organic deliciousness. Did like how she didn't go into detail with the sex. I like romance, not erotica. =)

The Stranger - Unexpected Love: Keri's Story #1 (Short Story)

Sadly, I could not finish this. The story didn't start until 14% on the Kindle to begin with and it was allllll backstory. I quit at 22%. This may all be interesting to the author, but as a reader, I come to care about characters by engaging with them, not being told their life history....

Uncovering the Correttis (Sicily's Corretti Dynasty)

Much like the car he drove: fast, dark and dangerous.
Bought the heat, bought the progression, but returned the resolution.
Just a little too fast for my blood. Guess I'm not Italian. ;-)

44 is an excellent paranormal suspense

The story takes place in Bend, OR. Abby Craig drowned when she fell through the ice on a lake. Brought back from death, she is not the same as she was before. Her memory is gone and she lives in a world without colour. Her former best friend now hates her and Abby has no idea why. Unexplained mysteries surround her. Her only anchors are her sister Kate, and her friend Jesse, who Abby realizes she loves but pushed away before her accident.

Then Abby begins to have nightmares about murders and mentions them to her sister. In her nightmares, she cannot see the face of the killer, but her visions match a series of local killings. Her psychiatrist and doctor try to push her to remember more about her past life and why she went out on the ice.

When Abby realizes her visions are not just dreams, and she sees the face of the killer, she knows she has to stop him. She will also have to face the truth about what happened.

44 is a well-written story and moves quickly. The characters are engaging. Abby's reaction to her brush with death is believable and poignant. People treat her differently and want to know what it is like being dead. Some of them treat her as a bit of a freak. She is no longer able to do some of the things she loved, like soccer and snowboarding, and she struggles to find her place in a world she barely knows.

The series of murders is chilling viewed through Abby's eyes. The villain, when revealed, is unexpected and the author does a great job of pointing the reader is the wrong direction.

    The ending is heartbreaking.

44 is an excellent paranormal suspense

    My Last Blind Date

It's like eating a can of frosting, thinking that's the best part of the cake. It's not good on its own.
No conflict or character development. Almost like an imitation of her other books. =(

Truth or Date (Better Date than Never) (Volume 2)

I'm beginning to realize just how much I love Susan Hatler's writing. She never fails to draw me into a story and leave me in a very happy, satisfied mood with her resolutions. I'm beginning to realize just how much I love Susan Hatler's writing. She never fails to draw me into a story and leave me in a very happy, satisfied mood with her resolutions. She knows how far to take a phrase or sentiment so it's genuinely, laugh-out-loud funny and endearing all at once. Her characters are real people that I would love to meet and love getting to know.
Gina and the man she ends up with are perfect for each other and their story is spot-on.

Grounded started out a little bit slow to me. When Grace gets stuck at home in the snow without anyone to talk to (in part because she can't!), I wanted her to get out and meet some of the Jacksons' cast of characters we all love so much. I was so happy when the Bentleys moved in across the street!

I was ready for Grace's to confess her secret that's weighing her down to someone, anyone. Maybe just because I am impatient!

While Grounded does have all the trademark Jackson elements I love {characters that feel like friends of our own, the familiar setting of Chicago (one of my favorite vacation destinations, so I feel I know all the places they are talking about), and praying through a spiritual struggle}, I also like the bit of romance thrown in. The romance element, at least the way it is done this time around, is different than any of the previous books or series.

Grace is so much more likeable than Kat in the Souled Out Sisters series, that really think I'm going to love this new series even more than Neta's last. I'm excited to read the next installment to find out what happens with Grace and the rest of the neighborhood next.
