If you enjoy a break from the kid's books you might really like this. It is definitely not for the squeamish-it's pretty dark and mostly PG13+. I really like the series. I am sad there won't be more to come. It is refreshing since it is set in Sweden and names and places are not the typical. The translated spellings are fun too.

Great book -- I'm reading the third in the trilogy and savoring it since there won't be any more. Do read them in order. Character development is very good; you really get attached to them. Plot is twist-y turn-y and not easy to figure out. Story is detailed and full of interesting information. I'm also a librarian and I have recommended the series to lots of people. One of the members of my Friends group is going to do a program about Larsson and his books in the fall.

    Katie-

I will tell you this ... The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is arguably one of the best books I've read in the past ten years BUT you have to remember that the original Swedish title translates in to "Men Who Hate Women", and there is graphic violence perpetrated against women in the book. It's like reading a Thomas Harris "Hannibal Lecter" novel where Hannibal is also a misogynist.

If you can handle that, it's DEFINITELY worth the trip!

DRAGON TATTOO is an exciting, sometimes graphic, mystery with wonderful twists. I love, love, loved it and the rest of the trilogy.
