"Let me tell you something, funny boy... You know that little stamp? The one that says New York Public Library? Well, that may not mean anything to you, but that means a lot to me. One whole helluva lot. Sure, go ahead, laugh if you want to. I've seen your type before -- flashy, making the scene, flaunting convention. Yeah, I know what you're... more »

Satrapi is a wonderful story-teller and this series enchants me. So much more than any one genre these books are beautiful, funny, entertaining and touching. What more could you want?

This was a quick and entertaining read but when I finished I was left feeling like the writer was lazy and manipulative. Just my opinion but it felt kind of "hacky".

A truly unique and exceptional book. Along with Maus and Persopolis, a fantastic example of a great graphic NOVEL.

Bourdain is one of the funniest writers I've ever read. You're human so you eat...read this book! It doesn't matter if you don't care about the restaurant biz, Tony will still make you bust out loud.

It's so hard for me when EVERYONE is raving about a book and telling you that you just HAVE to read it because it's SO amazing. The book rarely lives up to the hype but Water for Elephants was a quietly beautiful book that may not be SO great but is neverless great. javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$M$TheShelf$modalOpinionControl$ModalBookNavOpinionControl$UserRating$S4','')

Trashy detective story with murder, prostitutes, drugs and transexuals. What's not to love?

Pretty good...but the ending fails to deliver after the buildup and any comparisons to A Seperate Peace can be put to rest.

I love everything Perez-Reverte writes so I have passed the ability to remain objective several books back...this is not his best but it is a fun read in the ongoing Captain Alatriste series.

For some reason this book sat on my shelf for a long time, I just couldn't seem to muster the interest in reading it...I was wrong! Eggers writes a heartbreaking and hilarious memoir. The only knock on the book is it seemed to just fizzle out at the end...it's heard when you are writing a memoir in your 20's to come up with a satisfactory ending. It felt like he just stopped writing and thought "good enough".

Quick and funny read. Not mind-blowing but a great book to put a smile on your face and can easily be finished in a single sitting.
