“This is a really great book for anyone who enjoys books. The book's plot revolves around a father and daughter and there relationship to books and reading (one book in particular). It's a really unique and fun story that I would highly recommend to anyone. There is also a movie in the works so you will be hearing more about this series soon....”

“I love Philippa Gregory. No, this is not great literature but it sure is a fun read. This may be the only author who can lead me to love a book when I dislike the main protagonist. Her characters leap off the page and I always feel completely immersed in her worlds (which is what I read for!). ”

“This book was entertaining and I think Chance did a nice job of giving some psychological justifications for the reason why several girls accused so many of being witches during the Salem Witch Trials. A quick read that I would recommend for those that enjoy historical fiction.”

The Year of Living Biblically

“I love this man! I think he is one of the funniest contemporary writers in the U.S. His self-deprecating humor and the inclusion of lots of random and interesting facts (like the Know-It-All only this time it's biblical in nature) will keep all but the most picky reader entertained. I got this book for Christmas and finished it within a day. It's a quick, easy and entertaining read.”

High Fidelity

“So much better than I thought...I have seen the movie several times and tried to read this book in the past. The problem that I had was that the movie was so faithful to the book that I put the book back down. I finally gave it a real go recently, as it had been several years since I saw the movie. and I really enjoyed it. The main character is rather annoying but the other characters are unique and funny. I'm also a former mix tape freak so this book was worth the read for the mix tape philosophy alone. ”

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

“It took me two tries to get into this book. As with many books of this size it takes some patience on the reader's part to slog through the "foundation" that is required to hold up a book of this magnitude. In this case I would say that foundation is somewhere around 150 pages but if you can stick with it you WILL be rewarded. I was stunned that anyone could produce a work of this quality and depth on their first time out (This is Clarke's first book!). This book lived up to all my expectations and then far exceeded them! Clarke builds a world around you and it is filled with beautiful and interesting characters, history, mysteries, etc. This may also be the first book I read this year where the ending didn't leave me feeling slighly disappointed or betrayed (Picoult I'm looking at you!). Really a 4.5 star book and only loses that .5 star because it takes a while to truly enter Clarke's world. Highly recommended.”
