Thanks for the recommendation of The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. It was excellent. Mary had to read another of Alexie's books when she started undergrad at Miami of Ohio.

The Shawshank Redemption and the Dead Zone are great books and good movies as well from King.

The problem with book collecting is that it takes up a lot of space. Yet, it is worth it. I saw you loved the Green Mile. It is one of my favorites also. I bought it when it came out in six serials. I liked the way King published it in installments the same way Dickens had when he was publishing.

I wish I were there. I know you three will have a wonderful time talking literature and other things. Safe trip.

Have you read The Graveyard Tales, this year's Newberry award winner. I thought the character development was outstanding.

I really enjoyed The Known World by Edward P. Jones. I think you will like the writing style and the characters.

What did you think of Angela's Ashes. I thought it was very good but I thought Frank McCourt is a sexist pig for blaming his mother for doing what she had to do to feed her family while giving his useless father a free pass.

I did not identify with anyone in her book but you will recognize the issues raised in the upcoming Presidential election.

I read Atlas Shrugged last summer. It was hard to get through but I think of it often as life events unfold. Reading at least one Ann Rynd is a must for a well-rounded reader.

I'm so glad you like it! I was hoping I hadn't built it up too much!

But I'm sure your coworkers and family will be happy if you would bathe and go to work!

I can send you my copy, I need to go to the post office tomorrow morning to mail my Mom's Mother's Day present (I got her Inkheart!). I can then bring Inkspell with me to give you there. I hope both of you love this as much as I did after I have built it up so much!

Yeah, I didn't like Eragon much, obviously. Dave calls it Starwars with dragons (same plot). What do you expect from a 15-year-old author? The movie was AWFUL.

Did you like Smilla's Sense of Snow? It is one of my favorites. I had to read it twice to get all the intrigue (I am a little slow). It is also available on audio and a few years later I listened to it while driving and enjoyed.
I just finished "The Book thief". It is depressing but beautifully written in a unique writing style.
    Have a great day.

Hey, my mom just joined here. She's only got 7 books so far, but she's doing all kinds of cool stuff like reserving books at her public library through Shelfari. I'm impressed, I didn't know you could do that. Here's her URL: http://www.shelfari.com/o1517468548, her name is just "s m" and it's got a picture of her in front of roses. I thought you'd be interested since you always like her recommendations.
