    You might like 'Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Booksstore' as a light read that isn't total fluff or trash. Very contemporary, bit of a mystery. Overall pretty fun. Carlos Ruiz Zafon is sort of in the same vein of books about people who looooove books. Except Penumbra is in San Francisco, and Zafon is in a sort of gothic/magic Barcelona. I recommend Zafon's 'Shadow of the Wind' if you want some magical realism.
