Being a typical married working mom of two kids I had let my reading drop off to nothing because I was busy taking care of what everyone else needed. Then I was (thankfully) reintroduced to the joy of reading through a Shelfari invite. I decided that if I was going to be involved I had better get my act together and actually read a few things.... more »

I hated Running with Scissors because I wanted to slap every adult in the author's life. I hope never to meet any of those losers.

Oops meant to write the note about Big Girl Panties directly to you. Did someone steal this phrase from you?

Thanks again for passing them on to me. JD Salinger was a nut job. Everytime she would do something with him that was crazy I'm thinking, "Where is your mother!" and then I'd realize oh, she's in love with JD Salinger too.

Karen I found Open House and At Home in the World on my shelf from you. At Home is about the lady who lived with JD Salinger. I am putting my long historical romance novel on hold and started readling Stones into Schools which I will finish quickly. Love the book. Anyway, then I plan on reading the two you gave me. Thanks!

Let me know how you like the new B Kingsolver book. I read one of her other books "Poisonwood Bible" that was good but definitely lended itself to book club discussion. By the way, love your photo. It looks like you are yelling at the boys in a tree saying, " Come down right now!"

I bought it the other day at B&N when they were having a Lance fundraiser day there. I'm going to take it to SF this weekend with me but I'll drop it by when I get back home
