Reader for eons of years. Began reading Harlequins at 16 and never stopped reading romance. Love all genres, especially historical, paranormal, sci-fi/futuristic. I recently delved into the world of erotic authors and love the spicy stories, yet will always love sweet romances.

This is an anthology of 13 short stories for Halloween. I felt that this book was more of a teaser than an anthology. It left me wanting to know more of the story that I was reading at the time.

Some of the stories are written in the first person, some tales are M/M, and one made me think that it was a great horror piece. Hank Edwards' tale The Sum of His Parts had me think modern day Frankenstein. Haven Fellows included herself in Writing is a Socially Acceptable Form of Schizophrenia - totally original and left me wondering if she has other books that she's in.

The one story that had me confused was Raven McAllan's tale That Special Feeling. I loved the idea of the story but found some of the sentences confusing and not making sense. She had another tale Spin the Bottle that had me wanting to read more of the main character's story.

There isn't just one story that was my favorite. They were all totally different. Some were more paranormal than Halloween themed. It left me wanting to know more about the authors and what other books they have written. It's a book that you can read all at once or if you want to prolong your enjoyment, limit yourself to one short story a day. When I say they are short stories, they are truly short stories. They are written in just a couple of pages. With Summer upon us and vacations around the corner, this would be a perfect beach read.

This book starts off with a great dedication. Make sure that you don't miss it - you may even see your name. It's also written in the first person. Each chapter is named for the character that speaks to us.

Mia Lawrence and Oliver need to get to work but that doesn't that stop them from loving each other. What a great way to start off a book. Rachel is Mia's flat mate. There's a new man in town and his name is Robert Breckt. He's a man that knows how to use his "assets". I'm looking forward to seeing what Claire has in store for me.

Mia and Oliver seem to be a couple that really love each other. One day Mia comes to visit Oliver at work and meets Mr. Breckt. He's a man that can get anyone to do anything he wants. He's a very interesting "villain" that I cannot think of him by his first name. This is when our mystery begins - strange things have started to occur around town.

One thing that makes it a great story to me is that I can't figure it out. It has some romance in it but it's not the main focus. But then this is one of the reasons that I have to keep turning the page - I need to figure out the mystery. I also have two actors that come to mind when I think of Mr. Breckt - Frank Langella and Colin Farrell. I'm a fan of the old vampire movies and I can picture Claire's book made into one of them. I would buy a ticket to see how they interpreted her book.

One thing I think that makes Claire's story a little different is that she has Mia acting like we might if we came across a person that isn't all they seem to be. A lot of romances eventually have the heroine be accepting of people that are different from the norm. I found this story to be very realistic and believable. I do have to warn you that there is one scene that is very graphic and eating while reading may not be a great idea - let me just say that I'm glad that I didn't have ketchup on my turkey burger.

I thoroughly enjoyed Mia's story and was happy to see that Claire has a second book, Limerence II, coming out soon - Mia has me hooked. In the meantime if you still need a little push to get this book, stop by her site and watch the book trailer (http://www.clairecriley.com/limerence-trailer.html).

What I liked about the book:
I've read several books about selling ebooks and this is definitely one of the best ones! Ms. James really speaks directly to the author in a down to earth way without using a bunch of big words or filler words.
Since I've been an author for a year now and read several books like these I was looking for new tips that would help my sell books. This book definitely gave me some new things to consider when trying to sell my books. I found most of the tips to be practical and easy to do.
This book takes you from the writing stage to the publishing and marketing stage. It a very comprehensive guide. It's perfect for someone just starting out as a self-published author or someone looking to breath new life into their works.
There is a great list of resources that include links that a seasoned indie or a newbie indie would enjoy using.
What I didn't like about the book
I felt like the book at times only talked to self-published author who have a large budget. The author discusses how she paid a couple of hundred dollars for one stock photo that she used as a cover image. I don't know any of my author friends who are spending hundreds of dollars on one stock photo. Most of us can find a good stock photo for $30 max. The book also mentions spending $400 on an advertisement. I don't know if that would be very useful to people just starting out. She did provide very good links to sites with affordable services in other areas I should add. I only wish she would have talked about some more affordable stock image sites or paid ad sites.
Overall: This is a great book any indie author can use whether their new or seasoned and looking for ways to jump start their sales. I got this book for free and read it within about 2 hours. Even if i'd paid for it, it would have been worth the price for the thought provoking and useful information I learned.

Megan Bradford is having an interesting dream - what an interesting way to start the book. It certainly caught my attention. My dreams aren't as interesting as Megan's. Wyatt Monroe is her boss and he is having the same problem as Megan.

As I'm reading the book we find out that Megan and Wyatt are staying at the Miranda's Place B & B. It's run by a young woman named Bethany. I found that Bethany has an interesting story of her own. I would love to know if Kathy will be writing her story.

Megan and Wyatt have an intriguing connection that comes at an interesting time of day. Makes me wish that I had that type of connection with my partner. How about you? Kathy has given her readers dreaming with a twist. It also makes you wonder if we can control our dreams so that we get the outcome we want.

This is a book that you will find that you just can't put it down until you reach the end. Kathy grabs your attention starting with the first dream. If you're a paranormal romance junkie you could pick up a copy of this book because there is some unexplained reason for the connection between Megan and Wyatt. I'm looking forward to seeing what Kathy has in store for her readers in the next Dream Nights series. With all the dream sequences that she wrote in this book, I'm all set with my dreams until her next book comes out.
