Hello, to you! Happy New Year! I've been busy wrapping up edits for my second book and writing the third. How about you? =)
you are so welcome and you can never have too many friends. I will try to get a copy of your books since you can see I love to read.
I just wanted to introduce all of my shelfari friends to my new character, Olena Day. So if you see a friend (In Love With A Younger Man) that you don't recognize I updated my shelfari profile and Sweet Georgia Brown is gone, but hopefully not forgotten. Thanks for staying supportive.
Hey lady, I finished your book and I enjoyed it very much. I plan to post a review tonight. :)
Hi, KatrinaI just dropped by to say hello. I've been very busy, too busy in fact. I heading to New England next month--I can't wait! I need a mini vacation. =)~Debbie Copeland
Katrina...thank you bunches for the review and the mentions! Many blessings!Keshia Dawn
Hi, Katrina! How are you? I'm in the editing zone now. I finished the sequel two days after my birthday on June 24. I have a writiing ritual that I always follow when I complete a book; I don't touch it for two weeks at least. That way, when I start to edit it, I can see things that I didn't see before, for example, a sentence that sounds awkward. Then I can rephrase it..so I've been busy. I'm also waiting to hear back from three distributors. The success of your book depends on DISTRIBUTION--the markets you reach. And the fact is, self-published books NEED distribution tremendously. We can't compete with traditional published books without it. (Big pubs books get an editor, DISTRIBUTION, review copies sent to ALA/Book list) The magic number is 5000- your book needs to sell 5000 copies or more to get picked up by the big pubs like Penguin Group or Harper Collins. Having a distributor increases those chances for the success of your book. IPG is the third largest distributor, 3rd to Baker & Taylor and Ingram. But there are A LOT more book distributors who work with small presses and self-published authors who will go to bat for your book if they feel your book is worth it--that is--marketable. Believe me, girl, I've done my research, enough to start doing my seminars this fall on "The in's and out's of self-publishing" lol lol--for real!!! If your books get distribution, you get a Sales Rep, or a Sales Team who will promote and market your book world wide to bookstores AND libraries...They even attend trade shows promoting YOUR book. I have a list of distributors. If you like, I can mail you a copy. =) Self-publishing is a tough and long journey, but it's a wonderful feeling to have total control of your creative baby, and to see the results of your hard work. =)Oh, I received an invitation to join The Harlem Book Fair circle, and I sent you an invitation. Here is there link: http://harlembookfaircc.ning.com/ Check em' out. It's good exposure for your book; They found me, which is good--the more people who hear about your book, increases your exposure and folks interests in your book. =) AND, it's all FREE networking. lol lol So, what's happening in your world? Have you started on the sequel? Send me your address or PO Box so I can send you a copy of the Distributors list.Talk to you soon.~Debbie Copeland
Ur very welcome! Thank u 4 referring me 2 this website! It is very nice! I'm going 2 check out the Perry Skky Jr series soon, and thank u 4 the heads up about "Push." I'll definitely keep that in mind in deciding if I'm going 2 read it or not, but I'll see. I have so many other books with me that idk if I'll even get around 2 reading it. Pretty soon, more and more people will have "Choices" on their shelf, and no doubt in their favorites! :-D I can't wait 2 read "A Mom's Life."
Katrina's book, CHOICES, is a good "choice" for teens!
Hey there. Did you plan to add my book to your shelf since you'll be reading it? :P
