I am, and always have been, a reader and while I like just about any genre out there, there aren't very many horror books on my keeper shelves; a few, sure, but they're definitely the exception.
And yes, I do have keeper shelves for books... unfortunately for my poor, long-suffering husband Joe, collecting is another hobby. If I can... more »

I got this book because of Amanda Young's story TABOO DESIRES, which I read, and LOVED, in ebook format last year.
I don't know what exactly I was hoping for the other stories in this volume, but I have found three new authors to look for.
    * Amanda Young's story, TABOO DESIRES, was, again 5 stars of 5; wonderful emotional connection between Cole and Eric ~ and Cole was finally able to admit that his attraction to men was more than curiosity.
    * K.A. Mitchell's CUSTOM RIDE was emotionally charged and quite unexpected. Neither Ryan nor Jeff would, at first glance, appear gay; and the chemistry between them was amazing! Especially since Jeff had long had Ryan in his sights. Another 5 stars of 5.
    * Ally Blue's CATCHING A BUZZ was the story that I was expecting the least from. A combination of the author's name and the blurb from the back... but both were negligible once I got caught up in the story and the steamy attraction between Adam and Buzz. Rating: 4.5 stars of 5
    * Jade Buchanan's NUT CREAM... okay the title is a little odd, but oh my! I do love gay werewolf stories and this one is no exception. Toby has long loved Cliff, but never, ever expected anything in return... in fact that's the reason he left his home, family and pack. But once Cliff realized that Toby was his mate, Toby didn't stand a chance. HOT and sensual another wonderful story with a very strong emotional connection between the H and H: 5 stars of 5

WARNING: Explicit sex, graphic language, hot nekkid man love inappropriate use of personal electronic devices, and gratuitous disco dancing.

Once I read my first Janice Kay Johnson book I was hooked ~ big-time ~ and I've been searching out this rather prolific author's books ever since.
Her stories are always chock-full of emotions ~ happy, sad, light-hearted, serious ~ she covers the whole gamut of human emotions, and she does it beautifully! She's definitely on my list of favourite and auto-buy authors. , VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Great continuation of the series... finally glad to get more of Jaime's story and this one was excellent! The issue of human sacrifice was somewhat jarring, but it fit the story. Definitely as the series progresses we're finding that the issues that our heroines and heroes are dealing with are getting somewhat grittier, but it all fits. IMHO Kelley Armstrong is a fantastic author and I LOVE her Women of the Otherworld series. The characters, male and female, good and evil, alive and not, are fascinating... and REAL! The touches of romance are wonderful, sometimes there's more of a complete romance than others, but everything is continually evolving ~ characters, relationships, romances... Fabulous! VERY, VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Wow! This story was fairly different ~ mostly because Eve was a ghost and then there was the whole hell thing ~ where the really bad supernaturals went when they died. 'Cause the afterworld for the supernaturals is not the afterworld for humans... good that they kept them apart, because even there the humans don't have any comparable abilities. And the Nix... hoo boy... that was one nasty demi-demon; good thing that Eve had not only angel help, but Kristofer Nast, Savannah's father and Eve's one love, is also on hand.
While there is some romance, these stories are primarily paranormal adventures with a hefty dose of suspense thrown in... then there was the hell for supernatural serial killers... ugh!
Another excellent story in Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series. If you enjoy taut thrillers, paranormal stories and a host of supernatural beings, this is definitely a story for you... but, really, it's better to read this book in order. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

  • If I'd Never Known Your Love (Harlequin Everlasting Love)
    • Rated 5 stars

I had been looking for this book since shortly after it had been released. I'd read a review that had me chomping at the bit to find it... it took over a year, but I finally got a chance! It was amazing!
When I first started it I was reading a bit at a time because it was so intense, but as I got a little further in, I was extremely loathe to put the book down. Indeed, I read this book with the avidity normally reserved for the BDB.
Honestly, if you've not read this book before, hunt it down. It has joined the ranks of beyond outstanding books that I've read this year. Beautiful, beautiful, even when the pain Julia undergoes, there is such a spirit of... something ~ something that makes this a story that I will NOT soon forget ~ if ever I do.
    EXTREMELY AND UTTERLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

What a beautiful and heartwarming story! Trish Wylie has done it again, but I really didn't expect anything else. There's something almost magical about her stories; her characters are seemingly drawn from life ~ they're people that we could feel that we can meet at anytime. I also enjoy, very much, that they are complete people in their own rights. While their romance adds something wonderful and fulfilling to their lives and, indeed themselves, they aren't needy or always bewailing their fate. They're strong people who, in the face of adversity, carry on... but then they find someone that makes everything in their life brighter, bigger and better. And of course this is definitely one of my absolute very favourite themes; that of two people who have known each other their entire lives and love enters the picture ~ lovely! VERY, VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

  • Lover Enshrined: A Novel of The Black Dagger Brotherhood
    • Rated 5 stars

I finally, finally finished Lover Enshrined, J. R. Ward's sixth novel in her Black Dagger Brotherhood series ~ powerful, powerful story!
And it was far more than I had hoped. As usual J.R. Ward has done an amazing job with not only the Brothers, but also with the vampire world in general....

    J. R. Ward has written another blockbuster in her BDB series. With every novel we're taken further into the lives of the vampires in Caldwell, NY as well as the lives of the Brotherhood, their shellans and those around them. The Black Dagger Brotherhood are an extremely dynamic group who stand together; whose lives are intertwined with each other to a marked degree; who, one by one, are finding their life-mates and experiencing the healing power of love.
In Lover Enshrined, J. R. Ward takes us deeper into the background of the race and the creators of the vampires and the Lessers. We're also given, I think, a much better look at what may be ahead for the Brothers and those that they protect. Fabulous, fabulous story, about which I can't say enough or, if given a chance, would say far too much. But one thing that needs to be said:

VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Finally! The end of this series, while not necessarily a happy thing, is very much appreciated. I've loved the series since the very beginning and each book got me hooked more on the agents of the Committee. This was a bang-up ending and a great story for Reno and Jilly's tense, but satisfying, romance. The first time these two characters met each other the attraction between them was so tangible... and they were very much secondary characters. Then there was another meeting between them in Isobel's story ~ brief, but still even sparking from the pages.
I knew that their story was going to be a good one ~ and it was. It may have gotten off to a slow start, that's the way it seemed, but once the tinder caught that it was it ~ a conflagration! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I don't know if it's because Elena, Clay and Jeremy were my introductory characters into Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series or not, but the more I read of Jeremy Danvers and his pack, the more I love them. And Elena and Clay make, to me, a great couple and the further into the series the closer they get. Clay especially just really, really gets me everytime. He is totally devoted to both his Alpha, Jeremy, and his mate, Elena and he's probably more wolf than any of the other born werewolves. His story has always been told in dribs and drabs with every bit making me love him more and more. Not that I think that Clay would EVER be my hero ~ unless I was Elena of course ~ but his attachment to those in his world is absolute. And even though each of the stories is told from the viewpoint of one of the supernatural women in the series ~ werewolf, witch, shade and necromancer ~ there is excellent detail into the backgrounds as well as the men that are part of their lives. If you haven't read any of Kelley Armstrong's books, check them out. They are very much of the Urban Fantasy genre, with a splash of romance; yes there is a romance in each story, but the focus is on the women and the adventures in which they get caught up. VERY, VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I got this book because it was one of Angela Knight's that I hadn't read before... was I ever in for a treat! Whichever way you look at it, this is vintage Angela Knight taken to a outer space and some very erotic encounters ~ all tamed by sizzling romances~ and I love it! She writes extremely sexy and H-O-T!! heroes and feisty, sexy and strong heroines that are more than a match for the men. The action is top-notch... and the sex?... WHEW! Air conditioning would be a bonus when reading this... I had to make do with an electric fan.
Once again, Angela Knight creates characters that take on a life of their own... and if she ever decides to do a look back at Trinity and Nathan, Zaria and Sebastian and Cassidy and Rune, I'll be in line as quick as I can! Fun, sexy and a great read. VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
