I love to read -- for the pleasure or to learn something. I enjoy falling in love characters who become my good friends, exploring this world or new worlds, and seeing things through other people's eyes. I love to share this passion with others, which is why I am here. Being here, I also find a ton of books to add to my shelf. *sigh* This is... more »

Hi Kaly, I know what you mean about the due dates for library books. I have one more renewal on mine, and then I have to return it too. I'm on chapter 10 or 11. How far did you get before you had to return it? I hope you can get it back soon to finish it. I'm doing ok. I'm staying busy with school, volunteering, and fellowship applications. How about you?

Sounds good. Take your time! I'm only on chapter 9, about to start chapter 10. I'm reading really slowly. Some members in the group wanted a side read of "Autobiography of a Face," so I have listed that one in the group too.

How have you been enjoying "Truth and Beauty" thus far? I've posted some comments and cross-posts about it in Cafe Libri. I'm only on chapter 9.

    Hi KalyDawn!
Yes, my username is from George Martin's Game of Thrones. It is not my real name :) I chose it because I really like how it sounds :)

And I'm following you right back! I started to do that earlier:)

Thanks for joining the group! We are in the middle of selecting our next book for group discussion so be sure to add your recommendations. The current book for discussion is Black Ice by Anne Stuart and the topics will be posted on December 18. If it works for you, tell us something about you in the Introduce Yourself section. Lastly, we have a topic set up for you to add your Author of the Week recommendations.

    Welcome!

Hi Kalydawn! We are both in the Making a Dent In Our Shelves group and noticed your vote for Naked in Death, which is from my most favorite series. I checked out your shelf and thought you might be interested in our Mystery & Suspense group. We do monthly group reads and have an Author of the Week post where we provide the background and bibliography for authors in the genre, along with any other info of interest. We already had Tess Gerritsen featured a week ago.

Here's the link and I hope you'll consider joining.

I am so glad you like Poison Study! It is one of my favorites. I haven't gotten to the rest of the series yet, though.

I finally starting getting my TBR shelf under control, and now it has ballooned to mountainous proportions. Too many books, so little time.

I am giving Poison Study 5 stars and marking it as a favorite. I loved it. Have you read Graceling or Fire by Kristin Cashore? It is very similar to those. Very good book, I highly recommend Poison Study. Hope you enjoy it, too.

Hi Kaly, I've noticed that you have Glenn Kleier's new book The Knowledge of Good and Evil. I'm currently trying to get a group read going in my Suspense and Thrillers group with Glenn leading the discussion. If you would like to take part, please visit the group and let me know. Here is a link to the group: http://www.shelfari.com/groups/11778/about Thanks! Brad

Hi! Thanks for asking! I had my gall bladder removed, and while the doctor had to make an extra cut since my gall bladder was highly inflamed, I was healing well until yesterday. I had my staples removed on Monday, and yesterday while I was rushing to leave, i tripped over my feet, and have possibly broken a bone in my wrist. I'm in a soft cast until next Friday when I get another x-ray to determine if it's broken or not. Even more unfortunate, it's my writing hand, and I happened to fall on the side where I had surgery, so now I'm bruised and swollen just like I was after surgery. So... :)
How is everything going for you? Hope to hear from you soon!
